Re: Bagnell Dam was fun

I'm curious-- Was anybody catching any fish on rod and reel? Any white bass, hybrids or crappie taken from the bank?

Two noodling tournaments

Noodling festivals coming this summer Noodling, the sport of fishing by hand, is not for the faint of heart. But if you're not ready to try it yourself then attend one of the two noodling festivals coming soon. It may be just the inspiration you need. Tishomingo will be hosting the Second Annual Nat...

The Game Show

This fellow gets picked for a game show, where he has to answer questions about women, dating, love and relationships, that sort of thing. And he gets to take a friend, to use as a lifeline. He thinks, "I have a friend who is French. The French know all about love, so I'll take him." The f...

Re: CATALPA WORMS

You can order live worms from www.catawba.com. I've never tried it, so I don't know how long it takes to get a population of sphinx moths established in your trees. But I do know that you have to have catalpa trees to do it. Lots of catalpa trees around Columbia. They are flowering now and are nice ...

Re: You Guys

Wolfman, the spot won't be quiet for very long, not if you go up there with 15 other guys for a few days of drinking--I mean, fishing. http://www.outdoormissouri.com/ubb/images/graemlins/cheers.gif The last time I was down there, the upper Grand arm and Deepwater arm were just about empty. Kitty-fis...

Re: CATALPA WORMS

We have a lot of catalpa trees around Columbia, but it's been a LONG time since I've seen a worm on one of them. I knew a guy in Independence who ordered worms through the mail and got them started on his trees, but that was more years ago than I want to admit to.

Concordia City Lake

Does anybody here fish the Concordia City Lake (Edwin Pape Lake)? Can you tell me what the crappie population is like there?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Bull Shoals tagging study

When I was in junior high school, my dad and I had a good walleye trip to Bull Shoals in June. It was 1968, to be exact, and we drove down there the day after Bobby Kennedy got shot. Bull Shoals must have been at least 20 feet high. At K-Dock, they sold us a new crankbait called a Thin Fin (does Sto...
