Good answer. Lotta confidence in Shad Raps in the walleye world. Have you been doctoring them for more depth?
Summer is traditionally a livebait bite for us, although the tourney guys have been doing well with trolling cranks behind boards the last couple seasons...
I think everyone's a tad leery to chime in right now. Hey, I'll stick around. No way would I EVER agree to moderate on this or any site, but I do greatly enjoy this forum and the people who post here. Gotta be careful, though. I consider CW to be a friend of mine, although his opinions are his own a...
JD, I'll bet ackermannsacre would do it if you gave him a pound of walleye fillets. http://www.outdoormissouri.com/ubb/images/graemlins/24.gif http://www.outdoormissouri.com/ubb/images/graemlins/24.gif Sorry, AA. But I think YOU'd be the right guy, if we have to have one. http://www.outdoormissouri....
I'm thinking that the biggest walleye in Missouri got that way by behaving differently from the fish we catch. That fish is maybe not very easily accessible--probably lives way deep or way out, or way back in the timber. She probably regularly feeds on different forage--maybe 3-lb. drum, or suspende...
I think we got PD and PB mixed up here. No glitter on my sled. I'll just run it up on the rocks and walk the bag over myself, thanks. Proud of those scars! Why would anybody have a fiberglass boat in the Ozarks? Ain't nothin' but big scratchy rocks and brushpiles around here... and by big scratchy r...
The term for a round-headed person (like ReelXTC) is dicephalic. Most of us have horse-shaped heads (brachycephalic), because that is the dominant trait. Genetically speaking, when somebody exhibits an inordinate number of recessive traits (such as round-headedness, a widow's peak, inability ro roll...
My workplace has an annual bass tourney at Table Rock for the associates (go figger). In 7 years, I've never fished it. They were pushing me hard to get into it, until I told 'em I'd be targeting smallmouths and spots by trolling cranks on leadcore... http://www.outdoormissouri.com/ubb/images/graeml...
Sure, they'd like to COME BACK with a walleye--but they'd rather CATCH a bass. You go out on the lake and ask all the anglers what they're fishing for--it'll be mostly bass. It's what they know around here...what the boats are built for...what people always do with their limited time.
El Prez, you need to tone it down a bit if you expect to win any converts. Really! Bass are #1 around here, and walleye is probably #5 behind crappies, catfish and white bass. I don't fish for bass myself (anymore), but the bass guys catch enough walleyes that they're worth listening to every once i...
Change the water once a week. Get the cloudy slime out. Keep extra refrigerated unchlorinated water handy (I use a gallon jug) for rinsing and refilling. Keep them refrigerated in styrofoam (OK) or plastic (better). No need to feed them, unless you're keeping them for several months. If so, use fish...
