I'm still kicking
Radiation Therapy (13 bombardments) are over with and I'm regaining my strength, sense of taste and smell. The side effects got worst as the end got nearer and I lost from 196-164lbs. during the treatments, which also reduced muscle content. Am now taking 3 Chemo treatments every 3 weeks for 3 treat...

Scat-n-Tracks...(sign)
I walked a trail into one of my huntclub's hunt units and this is what I found. More tracks were not as visible, so they're on the move. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v373/Swampbird/Predator/Scat-n-Tracks/Scat-n-Tracks-07.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v373/Swampbird/Predator/Scat-n-Track...

Grayfox Down....Oct.04
Set-up just inside of the gate to a grown-up cut-over that is a favorite place that produces about 90% of the time, if allowed to rest. (Another hunt posted from this set-up) Cut-over Gate Set-up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v373/Swampbird/Grayfox/Grayfox042.jpg Blew a series on Verminator's Th...

Re: Grayfox Down...Sept.31
Sorry, I forgot to advance my wristwatch forward and it's actually Sat/Oct.01....
It's been a hectic week with burying my Father and all, so please excuse the mistakes. May get back to normal real soon; I hope!

Grayfox Down...Sept.31
Set-up on the edge of a floodplain and blew a series of Rabbit Distress on the Tally-Ho open-reed mouthcall and waited a few minutes. Set-up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v373/Swampbird/Grayfox/Grayfox048.jpg Caught movement out to the left front and a gray was closing. The fox caught sight of t...

Father passed Sat.
Here is the obituary for my Father who passed Saturday, after becoming almost bed-ridden due to inability to swallow food/liquid. The flap that covers the windpipe when swallowing wouldn't close and he'd had a tube into his stomach for feeding and just grew weaker with time. He stated that he didn't...

Re: Coyote....Sept.14
I work with the newspaper and am usually through between 4:30-5:45 so I can be in the woods at or shortly after sunup around 7:00. I'll hunt according to the wind direction and wheather or not I've hunted that area within a week or so. I hunt private land, a hunt club and WMAs if the populations war...

Coyote....Sept.14
After a poor start with 4 dry setups in thick cover under windy conditions, I decided to go to a ridgeline that borders a floodplain so the calls could get out over the foliage. Setup with the Foxpro about 20yds upwind pointing toward the floodplain. There was a valley that dropped off into the bott...

Grayfox Down...Sept.06
After setting up at 3 different locations and having 1 setup ruined by dogs chasing deer and another by club members planting Chufa, I went to a cut-over that has grown up pretty thick and set-up within 20yds of the road. Anything responding would most likely use the easier approach and run the trai...

Your 1st predator Call
What was your 1st predator call? Well, mine was but wasn't a call at all. In 1955, my dad bought me a Savage 311 12ga doublebarrel that I used to squirrel hunt with. No deer or turkeys around the house then. While squirrel hunting an abandoned homesite, I found a small, rubber black dog toy discarde...

Re: Grayfox Down..Aug.26
Usually leave them for the buzzards, but I may tan sone if I can get some frontal shots without quarter sized exit wounds.
