Re: New Farm Approach
Warmouth, There are definitely a couple funnels that look good from the ariels. I was thinking about walking the farm either Saturday or Sunday around lunch. Maybe the warmer weather will keep the movement down so our scouting won't cause any issues. If that doesn't work then the logging idea sounds...

New Farm Approach
My brother and I just got access to bowhunt a farm. We've only seen it from the road so we're at a disadvantage from that stand point. I've reviewed various satellite photos and understand the lay of the land pretty well. We're planning on heading out there this weekend to at least sit and glass in ...

Re: Rage vs. Tekkan II Broadheads
I've shot the Wasp Jakhammer heads for the past three years. For the most part they're ok but I did have one instance where I think the head caused the arrow to kick at a weird angle. It could have hit a rib or something because it was a shot from almost directly above a deer.

Re: Rage vs. Tekkan II Broadheads
Warmouth, Do the Steelheads use a rubber washer to keep the blades forward or not? My brother just purchased some of the Tekkan II so I guess I'll find out how he likes those. I'm torn between the Rage 2 blade and the Rocket Steelhead. I guess I could buy one of each and try them both. http://www.ou...

Rage vs. Tekkan II Broadheads
I'm in the market for some new broadheads and have narrowed it down the either the Rage or Tekkan II broadheads. Has anyone had positive or negative experiences with these broadheads? On the Rage broadheads they offer two or three blade designs. It seems like the third blade would be the way to go b...

Re: Deformed Rack
By pedicle are you referring to the base of the antler? The deformity on this buck starts at the base of the right antler so if that's what you're referring to then I guess it wouldn't have mattered to let him go another year.

Deformed Rack
If a buck has some kind of trauma that affects one side of his rack, will that deformity happen each year from then on? My wife shot a buck this year that has one good side and the other is messed up. Just curious if she passed on him if he would have been symetrical next year.

Re: First 15 Minutes
Rainbow,
Nice catch. He did have a round in the magazine but the chamber was clean. I agree, it should have been completely unloaded. He did that after the pictures were taken. I think it slipped his mind because he was so excited. Not an excuse, just the truth.

Rafe,
Marlin 30-30. He's used that gun the last 7 years and won't shoot anything else.

First 15 Minutes
It didn't take long for this buck to make a mistake opening morning. He gave my brother a perfect broadside shot at 80 yards. Sorry about the picture size.
