Re: Anyone take a youth out this weekend ?
My 14-year old daughter bagged a nice, 6-pointer (18" inside spread, 135# field-dressed weight) about 6 pm on Saturday evening during the youth hunt. It was her first hunt, and we had a great time together. We were hunting out in Gasconade County with my daughter's friend and the friend's dad o...

Re: Don't know where they went
Nope, killed that one with the shotgun, too. I'd forgotten my release so I couldn't bowhunt.

Re: Don't know where they went
I killed two of them over the weekend. One that walked by my elevated stand Friday evening while I talked to my wife on my cell phone, and the second one Saturday afternoon while I was easing through a creek bottom--I shot that one out of the air after they took off, like duck hunting. The birds are...

Re: Doubled up!
Congratulations, awesome job!
Just curious, what type of call were you using for the turkeys and what sounds were you making with it to draw in the gobblers? Also, did they call (gobble?) back to you or just sneak in quietly?

Re: How to kill chipmunks...
Hey JimDog, about your post with the picture of the chipmunks--the setting looks familiar. Was that in St. Elmo, Colorado?

Re: Back from the mountains...
Tigerhaze, where in central Montana were you? I hunted mule deer in the Missouri River Breaks area not far from Great Falls (near Ft. Benton, if I recall correctly) back in the '80s. Great hunting, spectacular scenery, virtually no people around. I wonder if it has changed much since then...
Re: Izzy
A co-worker friend of mine went to high school in Brighton with Izzy. Apparently, he was a catcher back then. My friend says he was a really nice guy. Regardless, he still makes me nervous every time he is on the mound.
Re: Izzy
Yeah, he may be the all-time Cardinals save leader after last night, but did you see how he nearly blew that one too? He's brutal and I just don't think he's going to get any better...
