Went down to hunt my places in Texas County and it was dry as a bone. Zilch. Didn't do much hunting this year due to knee problem. Lag time is anybodies guess. Morels don't really pop-up that much, usually they are already there in smaller form under the leaves and they get a growth spurt. I hunt'em...

I'm going to head for Texas Cty. next week and do a little hunting while checking out a road we just had made. Mid-Mo, I'm still thinking two weeks. Found some hens today..........in my freezer. Nice thing about hens is that you can freeze them without parboilling 'em and they thaw out practically like fresh.

Finally found some at Memphis net & twine, they claim they source it year round. What I do is cut it to about 3/16" thick on a table saw, drill it and keep it in sheet form until I want to use it, then bust some up. Tested it and it stayed intact for a week & 1/2.

Fished for a couple of hrs. this afternoon using 1/16 oz. blue/white tube jig 3' under a small bobber in 8' at the north end with a south wind gusting to 20 mph casting across the wind caught 15 crappie no size but fileted 'em anyway.
