Re: Strike One
I had three birds gobbling for 2 hours but also had a bunch of hens all around me. One hen walked up behind me. She was only about 10 foot to my right. After that I didnt hear anything. I moved to a different spot and seen a coyote coming down the ridge. He seen my decoys and started to belly crawl towards them so I got up to get him out of there. I wish you could legally shoot them during turkey season. On my way back to the truck I found this piece of paper that had this 1st graders name and a note that said they had released a hundred ballons from there school in Gothenberg Nebraska. They would like information on were it was found and something about the person that found it. It was released on Jan. 20th. Kind of a cool find.

Re: Strike One
I did manage to set up under a roosting tree on Monday morning. No sooner had he planted his feet on the soil, he received a load of #5s to the head. Never made a call. Thank God for the turkey patch.

Swing and a miss... Strike two!
I had a bird roosted this morning. Got within 50-60 yards of him, he was gobbling like crazy. Heard the birds fly down, and they went the other way. 10 mins later I have a gobbler come in from the opposite direction, and on my right shoulder. I waited for him to go behind a tree and adjusted myself. He was still pretty far to the right, so I tried a left handed shot... flat missed him. 20 mins later the rain started. Sat in a downpour until about 10:00 and decided I had enough for this morning.

Re: Strike One
Nice work PS. I like those short hunts like that, they are usually few and far between for me!
Hobie, nice try on the left handed shot, I am sure that was awkward as heck.
