Re: Dates for fishing trip
Ok guys, Mike (Roscoe Dog) has offered to let us have a hoedown/trout fishing trip at his deer camp near Cherryville. The cabin is small so we can pitch tents or sleep in our trucks. Guns and bows can be shot during the hoedown so bring them with you. We'll meet at Meramec for some trout fishing before we start the hoe down. If you don't want to fish you can meet us there. Directions will be posted when the dates are set. Post if you will attend and what you will bring to cook. We'll probably have some trout to cook up from Meramec. I have been to Mike's and it is a neat deer camp. He built the cabin by himself and cleared the woods by hands so it's a great example of what a guy can do with a little hard work. This is a departure from our usual haunts at Diggs but will be a great location change for a hoe down. Post up and let us know if you are in or not. When we finalize the dates we'll get the times and directions posted.

I may have plans for the 31st. I ain't sure just yet.
Either of the other two weekends should work.

Re: Dates for fishing trip
DMR, you going to Wilton? The most likely weekend is the 24th and 25th.
Re: Dates for fishing trip
Here's a couple of shots I took at Mike's deer camp. You won't believe how he built this cabin. It is a great place for a hoe down. Plenty of spots to camp and have a great bon fire. I can smell those breasticles on the grill right now.

Yessir, I'll be at Wilton, no matter the date. Hopefully the two soirees won't fall on the same weekend.
And yeah, iffin I'm there, plenty of quacker tits will hit the grill.
Also, it might be a good idea to p.m. the directions to Mike's place, instead of posting them.

Probably a 95% chance of me not making this shin-dig. Plans right now are to head to Florida, even though hitting the beach will be out. Still have some maintenance to do on the house and hoping to catch the shuttle launch on the 29th. The last 2 weekends proposed I am not planning on being in the state....the frist proposed weekend will either be a travel weekend or getting ready. Unless Florida plans fall through, I won't make the party.

ODF, too bad you and the boy won't make it. I have seen shuttle launches and they are neat. Your son will like that. Our kids just came back froma NW Florida and the beaches were still clear. That could change by the time you get there.

Re: Dates for fishing trip
RB - NW Florida is where we go....I have family that has property in Navarre and an aunt and uncle that have a place just East of Destin. News reports are saying booms are going up off Navarre Beach and that Destin pass will probably close by the end of the week. This thing is devastating the entire Gulf region and we are just starting to see the effects, which will last for YEARS to come. Guess I better savor the last of those huge Gulf shrimp I have in the freezer, because I won't be getting to replenish the stock any time soon.
Right now there are only 2 launches left on the schedule, so we're timing our summer trip to hopefully catch one. May have to spend a couple of days over there because the east coast may be the only beach time we get.

My daughter did say the booms were going up. The were in Apalachacola(sp) on St George Island.

Triton, we have been trying to put a fishing trip/hoe down together for those inclined to attend. Fishing at Meramec, yeah I know its a trout park, and then a cookout/campout at Roscoe Dog's deer camp near Cherryville. It's closer to you that the others were so why dont you drive on over to this one. At least roscoe, me, DMR and maybe Jim Dog will be there. We'll hang out by the fire until late, sleep until we get up and then have some campfire breakfast and head home.Triton X2 wrote:hi guys, what have I missed? lol
