"Fish, the pic of him on the hoof is on FB in my photo album. Looks much clearer there."

PS - That is where I stole it from. You need glasses

I'm talking about the picture in this thread. I put it over there in my hunting album. You can see it there. Not the one you posted.

Oh, and Dave, I was dang excited even walking up on the deer. He was wide and heavy just as I had thought. But, it is saddening what 5" will do to a fellow's psyche. Ask MoCraig about that. Good word has it from Snowflake that he is lacking in the peter department.

He only went 75-100 yards. But I didn't begin looking for him until a day after I shot him just so everything would feel all normal.

I hear you PS, I almost went into fits on a buck that I over estimated on the hoof. Now I don't try to put a number on them, it's either a buck worth killing or not.

I'd pop that sucker you got first thing tomorrow morning if I was lucky enough to have him in range.

After this front moves through I'm hoping to do just that.

Yeah, with a bow in my hand I generally am pretty good at guessing them on the hoof. But, I didn't pay any attention to this guys brow tines. I saw mass and spread and was whacking. I've always been OK with P&Y class deer. Might be time to up that a bit.

I'm too trigger happy with a gun in my hands. I shoot first and get pissed off later.

PS, I wouldn't second guess yourself. It's a nice deer, p & y and better than most guys even see. You do kill good deer and I won't be surprised if at some point theres a booner in your future on the HFA.

This deer will be a little shy of P&Y Rainbow. A couple of inches. I knew it when I picked his head up and looked at those browtines. Such is life.

I'd love to kill a deer like that. No shame in it at all, PS.

I would have whacked at him in a second. Did you have your way with him after recovering him? :jmplgh:

I gave this one a rest Triton. I only have my way with those Jim Dandy bucks. They tend to excite me a little more. If he had been sporting a good set of brows, you can rest assured I would have given it to him full throttle.
