Some deer from my stepdad's farm

Post by Rafe Hollister » December 21st, 2011, 2:02 pm

These were taken by my stepbrother, stepdad, and a friend of theirs over the last several years. They're hanging in my stepbrother's garage. I took the pictures while I was up there last weekend.

First one is from Nov. 2011 by stepbrother.

Second is from Nov. 2011 by stepdad's friend. Left side is bent in front of G-4, leaving an inward turn and crabclaw.

This one was from about 5 years ago. Unreal mass, and the right side deformed from an injury to the left rear leg.

My stepdad killed this one a couple years ago. He farms, and doesn't care what he kills--to him, all deer are crop-eating pests and he kills the first one to come along. This was the first.

These are just a couple of good, symmetrical 8's with great mass. And one with not much mass. :nutz:

I didn't measure, but I'd estimate 24".

A few years ago in one of his fields, he had a buck run in front of him as he was combining corn. He said each antler was hitting the corn stalks, and the rows are 30 inches wide. I think that deer was taken that season and made North American Whitetail or some other magazine.

Is this the jackass who wouldn't let us turkey hunt his place?
All you thugs and ugly mugs dealing drugs and making noise,
You can kill each other all you want but if you touch my little boys,
You begging for this bullet will be the last thing that you say
before I let my dark side come out to play
