Due to circumstances beyond my control, we didn't go to the Tick Farm Friday night as planned. Instead, we got up early Saturday to go. Got there a little after daylight and unpacked our things. Turks were gobbling and we got out to them as soon as we could. Didn't get 100 yards from the cabin when I decided there were a couple close enough that we should get hidden. Three hens came by at about 7 yards, then later the gobblers came. G-Man shot one of them at 12 yards. He was very methodical about picking one out and staying with it. He wanted the biggest one and the one who strutted the most and gobbled the loudest. I didn't think he was ever gonna shoot, but finally did. We just stood there laughing and enjoying it for the longest time. It was a heck of a hunt. Over with in a little over 30 minutes.
I know there are other successful youths out there. Let's see some pics and hear some stories.
