BornBad-You pooped out after 3?? You need to pace yourself...or do what I did. I shot 2 does that were together and I simply threw one over each shoulder and walked out of the woods!! Image

PoisonSnail - Might want to be careful talking about how people talk about what they should/shouldn't have done...seems like I remember you making some comments about shooting something you shouldn't have.

Hobie - As to your original question....beats the hell outta me. See, I don't judge my season by the number or what's on the wall. Like DuckMeRunnin' said awhile back...it's about the groceries. I'll kill as many as need be to fill my freezer. That might be a couple of big does or 4 or 5 smaller ones. Once the freezer is full, then I worry about that empty place on my wall.

MoCraig - Not realy...see, if I had to align myself with one of the 2 groups, I probably lean more towards WAS than CCGC. I got a decent 10 on the wall. Anything smaller than that walks and I don't give it a second thought. I like eatin' more than starin' at the wall! Image

MoCraig - Okay, help me out here... what the hell is "MAHA land" and why did I "quit" what? The 10 came off our land. Not sure what you mean about the "quittin'" part....you mean after the 2 small does? I didn't "quit" hunting. Have some family that hunts there too and I kind of hate to fill everyone's freezer and not let them have a chance at killing something. And to be brutally honest, I got me some buck fever last year. Seen the biggest mo-fo I've evern seen on that land and probably one of the top 6 or 7 deer I've ever personally seen. I got me some deer meat in the freezer, so left the doe killing to the rest of the family and went gunning for the brute. I knew that he was either going to be dead or hidden damn good once rifle season got in full swing. I tried to setup on him and he made me look like a ....well, like a fool....an outdoorsfool, if you will! Image He showed up about 3/4 mile away from where he'd been hanging and a buddy took a potshot at him. As far as I know, my buddy didn't hit him and he wasn't taken last year. In my neck of the woods, if he'd been taken someone would have heard about it...unless he was poached by non-locals. I'm one of the few people that bowhunt around there .... so I'm already working out assault plans. Image

Ahh...nope, never been a member of MAHA. I hunt mainly private land, with some public land thrown in. Our land has quite a few deer, but seems to be primarily does. We have improved it quite a bit over the years through self-imposed restrictions. But we still need to get the doe numbers down some more, so I don't mind taking out 3 or 4. I normally have a neighbor or two that can't hunt and will take a deer, but other people beat me to giving them deer last year.

Fool, I will help you with those does. I like to shoot 5 or 6 a year.
