" Trout fishing has been good lately. On the fly rod, they have been eating small crayfish patterns fished under a strike indicator. Keeping it deep has been key. That has been the most effective fly rod technique. Spin fishermen have been doing well on deep diving rebel crawdads and rooster tails. "

Rooster Tail's huh ? Can anyone back that statment ? any recommendations on color ?

I've proly caught several dozen on rooster tails over the years here in trout central: chartuse, white, brown, all good colors. I like 1/24, helps me to rid more of them chit fish from the stream. You, being a CCGC'er in all, would proly want a 1/16 or 1/8 to attract the bigger trout.

Been thinkin about the 11 point. BB, thanks for keeping that in mind for me. I happen to have damn nice brown taken from the White just across from Stetson's. I bet he was close 10 lbs. On UL gear no less.

Just use a small crankbait down there between Greer and Turners. You should be fine.

BTW Smitty, how deep does that river run ? I was told the deeper and slower the bait, the better. I may just drop using any artificial and go with live bait, and/or power baits.

2B: Between Greer and Turners you cannot use soft plastics or live bait. That is a trophy trout area. Everything has to be more or less crankbaits, rooster tails, etc... Oh, and flies of course. Below Riverton it is slower. It runs at a pretty decent pace between Greer and Riverton. Altonite can tell you specifics. It has been a year since I have floated it. I didn't do a lot of fishing. Oh, I did some, but not much. If you boys get checked down there by an agent with the last name of Smith, tell him to suck me. PoisonSnake
