What all is he going to power with it? He needs to be sure and get something big enough to handle his power needs. We bought a small, compact generator from one of those traveling tool outfits. I think it cost about $80 or so and was primarily purchased to run a medium sized freezer when we went to Wyoming hunting. Come to find out it wouldn't handle the freezer load and would kick out every time the freezer tried to come on. But for power outages and camping, it's the poopoo! Fairly quiet and will easily run several small appliances (TV, VCR, lamps, etc.) without fail. I bet I could get a fortune out of it in Florida about now! Image

I don't have one for sale, but Coleman makes a compact camping generator (around 1500 watts I think) for around $250-$300.
