Re: Covering Your Scent...
yeah, because you`re so busy waiting for your clothes to dry that you don`t have time to hunt.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

A special roll of non-scent toilet paper to wipe your donkey?
Us CCGC'ers make it a habit to eat nothing but acorns, Imperial Whitetail Clover, persimmons, apples, corn, and various twigs during deer season so our dung will not smell out of place in amongst the other woodland creatures. You WAS boys have a lot to learn.

Rafe..I was just reading about a couple of guys that do not eat meat for 1 month before the season and throughout the season. That would be a tough sacrifice for me. I'm not much on veggies.

TT, all joking aside... your routine is not far from mine.
My hunting outift is typically... Browning Supprescent suit, rubber boots, and whatever miscellaneous (according to weather).
I typically wash all my clothes, including "hunting watch", before every hunt in the HS laundry detergent. If it is a morning hunt I wash them the night before and, after drying , leave them in the dryer. The next morning I will restart the dryer while I take a shower with non-scented soap. I then apply non-scented deodorant ( I like the Arm & Hammer stuff with baking soda or the HS stuff). Once I get to the field, I spray myself and equipment with scent killer.
I do on ocassion use a cover scent. As I said before, as we get into the pre-rut, I like to use doe pee as a cover but I never apply it directly to myself. I cut the top stretchy part off some old socks, pull'em up around my boot tops, and apply doe pee to that. I put one of these around each boot. I use the rest of the sock as a drag-line rag. After gettin to the stand, I then hang the three scent rags (one around each boot and a drag-line) about chest high on tree limbs, in a semi-circle around and upwind of my stand, bout 15-20 yards out.

Body hair holds your scent as well. The only way to avoid it is a full body wax from a hot Asian chick.

This is what I do... I wash my hunting clothes in H.S. Scents laundry soap at least once a week, then i put them in a dryer w/ a fresh earth dryer sheet. Once they're dry they go in a trash bag w/ a fresh earth scent wafer and the bag stays tied shut till I"m at the farm. Once there, I spray everything I am going to put on w/ fresh earth spray. Done huting they go back in bag w/ wafer. Since I have started doing this, I havn't had a deer wind me.

Re: Covering Your Scent...
I've just about come to the conclusion that some deer are gonna smell you regardless. I do the baking soda chit. Have it all in my hair and under my arms. Shower before every hunt. I figure I'm doing OK if they are not busting me until they are within shooting distance in gale force winds. Also, I have had deer within 3 steps of my stand this week that never knew I was there. Even after I threw something at them they were still confused. I just want something that is foolproof 100% of the time. I can't take any chances on the 160. Dukdick, when you get yourself a stagename that does not reference skycarp, I might listen to your advice. Then again, I probably won't as I was doing that 10 years ago.

Re: Covering Your Scent...
You know I camped out for a week last year and had no way to take a bath or even clean up and was around a campfire as well and I really could not tell any difference...I had a hard time even taking myself near the end of the week....PU...it was bad...I had deer all around me so Im not sure what difference the scents have...I think the wind plays a bigger role...That is just my opinion though...I have been winded a number of times too....Might be like you are saying PS.
That's funny you don't look Druish.

DukMaggot: I would listen to you if you told me something I didn't know already. I do all of the above 20 times over. I want a foolproof way of not getting smelled in 30mph winds when a deer is approaching downwind. Is it possible? PS (who is contemplating DukDogs real name?)
