Interest Check

Post by BornBad » December 30th, 2004, 1:12 pm

How many people are interested in doing a 2005 outdoormissouri.com fishing competition? Ideals ? Suggestions ?

Yes, I suggest you give me the prizes for the crappie and flathead division, and save yourself the time of putting together a competition. You could go on with the competiton, but why question inevitability?

Ya, you would proly take me to the cleaners on them two chit fish... I'd sooner fish for trout out at the kiddy pools than waist my time on those two species though.

Well Tablerock, the thing that was wrong with 2004 is simply this; the Flathead leaderboard, well, that was all that was reported. Everything that was reported, according to the rules, was posted and I had very little action going on in the catfish forum. More times than not, I had to turn an entry away for incomplete information. I was thinking about moving away from weight and length and going solely with length (presuming a ruler reading is far more accurate than a typical tackle box rusty scale reading). Furthermore, I was thinking of moving away from fixed line and going solely with pole and line as well as including more species.

Well, more species would be great. I can see your point about length vs length and weight. I do think the catfish leaderboard will be kinda dull without the fixed line catagory.

Watch out for Bullitt. He goes bass fishing and catches walleyes. Then he goes walleye fishing and catches bass..

I go walleye fishing and catch rocks. I go bass fishing and catch rocks. Is there going to be a category for the largest rock?

Tablerock, I only had one acceptable 2004 entry out of all three fixed-line catfish boards and that was you. If you want fixed-line, your going to have to stir up a little more interest for it.

Species that I have in mind for pole and line are Bass, Catfish, Striper, Walleye, Common Carp, Crappie, Blue Gill, Goggle Eye and Trout.

Fixed line division is a must. You'll never see a 50lb falthead on this board without the fixed line division.
