Opinion on next season

If ya'all were settin the season for next year what would you do?

My choice...

2 zones, north of the river and south of the river.
60 day split season.
North: open last week in October to last week in November; close for last week of November; open the entire month of December.

South: shift it forward 1 week. open month of November; close first week of December; open 2nd week of December to First week of January.

I'll agree with the zoning. The present South zone is a joke.

But, if they don't start getting some precip up North, the 60 day season may just go by the wayside.

Year before last, some of the best duck hunting potholes I've ever seen were bone dry. ( S. Dak.)They'll have to cut the season sooner or later. My .02

Open the season up year round and have no zone splits, no limits, no nothing. Only dumbasses hunt ducks anywho.

I like your plan as well, but I don't really see the need for the split. What purpose does that fill.

Leave the South zone alone, at least on the west side of the state. No split. Season should run for the last 60 days allowed by law. We don't need the season to be open when the ducks aren't here yet. I would rather work around the ice if I have to than to hunt open water with no ducks.

C&C and bullitt, it seems the ducks are gettin here later and later the last few years. So, we need to be able to hunt'em later. However, if we actually have a normal year, I would hate to miss the early push.

My brain has been fried for about a month now. I have no good comebacks for the most part. But, I figure it was about as good as that of yours.

Shamefull PS, just shamefull.

Go to the park duckers, my 6yr old daughter kicks the heck outa ducks there. All you need is some wonder bread, and shoes with a sturdy toe. I could get a couple limits in 20 min. tops.

If you want a challenge try calling in Robins or Bluejays, they all eat about the same, like mud on shoe leather.

Hobie, I see what your gettin at, but what if the one week it's closed, there is a push like the week of Christmas this last season. Would hate to miss that, too. I will agree that the ducks are gettin here later, but that directly related to the weather up north.
