Best AutoLoader
Okay everyone has their opinion about what gun is great. But what makes your autoloader better than the next guys?
I've had:
1100's
SBEs
Browning GHs 3.5
All shot a bit different than the other manufactor. So fit & feel has something to do with it. If you are a medium sized man or a big or tall guy and arm length plays a factor.
But what makes the autoloader you shoot any better than some other brand?

I have a Remington 1100, in the few times I have used it I have had no complaints. I have it for special loads now that I have my 30-06.

Big John wished that I held onto my 1100 12 ga.
Great little gun.
Are you saying that 1100 is a rifle?

Daffy, No the 1100 is a shot gun. I bought a rem 700 BDL in 30-06 with leupold 3-9x40 scope. The shot gun is only used for special loads for unwanted prowlers on the property.

I bought my 1100 in 1965, its still shootin'. It was pretty expensive at the time, I believe it was about $180.

Re: Best AutoLoader
Silly question Hellbender but did they have 3" shells and guns back then?
That's what I am trying to find a 1100 12 ga. 3" Mag.

Re: Best AutoLoader
It depends on what you want to shoot. If you want to shoot 2 3/4" shells, and 1100 is hard to beat, as is an A-5 Browning, but you couldn't run fast enough to give me a Gold Hunter or SX-2.
I have hadan SBE for the last several years that I think is the best autoloader I have ever owned. It shoots any shell in any order, and apparently will not jam. I would like to try one of the new ones with the recoil reduction system.

Yes, and the Mod 12 and the Browning A5, that I remember, An 1100 has "Magnum" on the receiver and on the barrel of course.
I believe you can shoot the new Steel, 3" in a 2 3/4" chamber, or I believe thats what I've read. I would think the 3" would become somewhat outdated because most Turkey hunters want 3 1/2'ers and Duckers don't need them.

Those Remington 1100 Magnums are hard to come by and expensive when you do.
I like the feel of the A-5 humpbacks but they are a chunk to lug around all day.
Had a couple of the SBEs the old and new style, might consider the new SBE II but can't see forking out that much money for it.

I like my old style SBE with the HK guts, but I would really like to try one of the new ones. Less recoil has got to be better.
The A-5 I had was a gorgeous Sweet 16, made in 1957. I just couldn't hit a pachyderm in the patooty with it.

Re: Best AutoLoader
The only semi-auto shotgun I crave is an old Belgium Browning A5, with the safety through the front of the trigger guard. My first time hunting was with one like that I'd borrowed, and I've wanted one ever since. I've just never found one at the same time I had the money to buy it.
