Have a good one

Post by Warmouth » May 20th, 2005, 11:08 am

Hope all of you hog hunter's have a successful weekend in pursuit of those savage russian razor backs. Becareful, one and all, and be sure to post up pics of your successful hunts, or severe bodily injuries caused by hogs.

Be sure to include any helpful info, including the size of the tusks, weight, overall health of the hog, and stomach contents.

Just becareful fella's, those hogs are some mean critters.

Don't forget vital information, such as how much of it's head was mysteriously missing. I have some pointers on proper excision of tusks from mutilated hog heads if anyone needs them.

I assume folks try to get them out in the most disfiguring manner possible. Is there really any other way?

The more genteel hog hunters/body part collectors will try to remove tusks with a Leatherman. This is a totally inappropriate way to try to accomplish the task, since those bad boys are fastened in there. The truly experienced, seasoned, efficient woodsmen (redneck idiots) blow the sheet out of the jaw with a 3 in. 12 ga. at point blank range. It would seem that this softens up the tissue sufficiently.

The only thing to add, is to be sure of your backstop. It would be a crying shame to dammage some other "good parts" while performing this delicate operation.

I have seen many mounted boar's heads. A Taxidermist can partially pull out the tusks and make them 25% longer. I just thought you'd like to know

Heck, any decent taxidermist could fix that easy. You can barely notice it as it is. Image

At least I wasn't afraid to touch it and handle the dead sucker to see what killed it. You on the other hand kept a safe distance and wouldn't so much as poke it with a stick. Image

Your memory is terrible, if this were court, you'd go to jail for purjury. TT shot the jaw off, pulled the tooth out, and tossed it in the bed of your truck. You were behind some tree squatting to pee, as I recall.

Really dude, I don't remember you laying a hand on the hog.

It's a mix between telling a lie under oath, and purgatory. Image

Fine, perjury.
