Member of the Month for May

CW has been giving this considerable thought, and at first had decided that there was no reason to bestow the title on one of our members. Then after reviewing the posts from numerous regulars I had second thoughts. While the requirements to earn the designation of Member of the Month are somewhat vague, they are nonetheless something that you recognize when you see them. The most basic requirement is to have made some kind of contribution to the betterment of walleye fishing as a whole, and to our area walleye fishing in particular. In my humble opinion, three guys did just that this past month, and therefore CW is declaring a triumvirate Member of the Month (that's Latin for "three" for those of you who are scratching your heads). These three individuals have contributed not only to the posts here with a high level of walleye knowledge, but also opened their boats to us for pre-fishing and also as tournament partners for some. From the reports that were posted here by those of you who shared a boat with one or more of these people, they are the epitome of angling knowledge, are more than willing to share that knowledge with those who want to learn, and took away new friendships and lasting memories for all of us, plus a couple of phone numbers from Hooters. What else could I do than declare our May Members of the Month are Mister(s) Steve Fellegy, Johnnie Candle, and Jim Carroll. Congratulations to all.

When that big ol' Tracker needs some factory attention, I'm sure I can find a bottle of farm sauce to help grease the skids, so to speak. That's what it's designed to do, and from what the guys who have tried it tell me, it has an amazing effect on the female libido. With a quart of Half Way Fire Water and a trial pack of Cialis, you'll be good to go long before the Tracker will be.

Hey...CW almost forgot...somebody talk to me about Storm Deep Diving minnow lures. They look like a Rogue with an extra long bill. I got a super deal on a dozen of them (6 different colors) on Ebay yesterday, so I may want to try them out on Stockton before the July tournament.

That's what I thought , too. For two bucks apiece I figure I can leave some on the lake bottom and not cry too loud.
Couple of days ago, I got a box of six Luhr-Jensen crankbaits that look really good....hope the walleyes feel the same way....for nine bucks. That's almost free.
When I get back from Nebraska , gotta get out on the lake and see how these things run.Ya never can tell...Ol' Leaky's skipper might decide to do some trolling in the July tournament, and it just wouldn't do to pull de-tuned baits behind his boat.

CW you are not going to like those lures. They are really hardd to fish with, just send them to me and I'll save you the agravation. I won't even charge you for sending them either. I mean what are friends for!!!!!
Actually I have't caught any walleye with mine but I have caught bass and white bass with the black and crome up at Truman Res. They get down around 20 feet with 10 lb mono.

CW, if you bought the "old" ones OR the new "Original Series" Deep Thundersticks, yeah baby! I would be happy to break them in for you, as a service to a friend. These have the molded lips (if TT6 is using black/chrome, he's using an "old" one). If they have glued lips (like a Rapala), they're generally considered dogs--although I'm sure they'll catch fish.

The "old" and "Original Series" Tsticks are my go-to trollers.

Yes PD I have the old one's, the only one I have caught anything on is the black and chrome, course that's also the one I use the most. I bought a new Rappala DT-6, in shad and have been tearing us the bass and cat fish with it. Best crank bait I've ever used, even better than my rat'l trap which used to be my go to lure.

My all-time best bait is the black-and-chrome Storm Deep Jr. Two years ago I had 8 of 'em, now I have 2 and those are both retired because the fish have beaten them all to he11 and they can't be tuned anymore. I'm anxiously waiting for Rapala to reintroduce that color in the Original Series. Their rep says the plan is to bring back ALL the colors, 10 or 12 a year until the line is filled out. Hopefully the '06 reintroductions will include the black-and-chrome.

You collectors might want to put aside a complete assortment of "new" Tsticks while they're available, because they WILL be discontinued at some point in favor of the Original Series, according to the rep.

Hey, Thanks for the cool honor. Guess that means I will have to come down and baby sit my good buddy Jim at the awards ceremony.

AS for the Deep Jr T-Sticks. THe Originals are great fish catchers and my all time fav as well, but do not discount the new versions. They catch many fish as well. They have a little more rool to them and a very subtle action, but they can trigger bites.

I am not saying they are the bomb, but don't throw any away.

Being an amateur, and a rather poor one at that, I was just wondering what a "rool" is....is that the side to side action along the axis of the lure that us dummies call 'roll"? Sorry, JC....I just could not resist that.
I apologize....and Lord, forgive me and bless the starving pygmies in New Guinea....git-er-done. As you can tell, CW is a fan of Larry the Cable Guy.
Naturally you will want to baby sit the other JC....I noticed that there is more than one Hooters qualified waitress at Smiths, and it would be terrible if Jim were to be taken out back by three or four of them. He would definitely need some help with something.
I have not seen the Storm lures yet....they will probably arrive in tomorrow's mail. What I have seen is the six black and chrome Bush Baby lures with the funky looking lip and torpedo fins built into the body of the lure....and the assortment of QUOTE: "Japanese OEM Reefrunner style crankbaits"....the lures look quite nice, but the brand is
some outfit called Osprey Lures, and "Made in China" ain't the same as "Made in Japan". I sent the seller a rather pointed note about fraud, dishonesty, etc. etc., and i have not seen another of his auctions on Ebay. Maybe he got the message. Anyway, if you are tempted to bid on Japanese crank baits sold by a guy up in Canada, better ask questions.
