Yeah, Friday night is when we thoroughly trash the place of the Theodosia tourney winners, so they don't get any sleep and can't bring their A game on the weekend... Image Image Image

CW. I think we will be begging for eyes for the Oct. fry. Steve normally has the freezer full but this year I think we will be scrounging. Any Xtra you collect will be appreciated. Remember, Oct on Beaver. Image

Go away, pesky woman! I asked first....but if you already have an October fish fry planned and CW can beg maybe half a dozen filets, I suppose the BS get together would qualify as a "worthy cause"....that sounds like a good way to use the unwanted walleyes. CW will even help with the guttin' & cuttin' to speed along the cleaning process out in the hot weather.

Hmmmm...I knew that the bbq dinner / raffle is Saturday night, and the fish fry at the Tree House is Friday night...sometimes my aging, gnarled arthritic fingers move faster than my rapidly shrinking brain, but it will all work out in the long run........Thursday...check in, make a run down the lake, look for walleyes, go back to motel and wait for partner to arrive. Grab a bite of dinner, spend remainder of evening adjusting attitude. Friday...wait for pounding head to settle, pre-fish until it gets too hot, return to room and shower, get right with the world, then go up to the pre-tournament meeting. When that is over, follow the mob to the Tree House for an evening of quiet and informative walleye talk. After that, all bets are off.

I'd like to invite the ever-elusive JimDog, Fishnxs, Bullitt, Plasticman, Bumps2, Ozark, Hellbender, Hogwild, Meat Man and all the other posters & lurkers to come on out and give this a go. It's incredibly fun! Stockton's the kind of lake where just about everybody would have a good shot at weighing some fish, and if you hit a feeding frenzy anything could happen (like it did to us in the last 45 minutes on Stockton once--we went from zeroes to heroes and won it going away, in a spot we'd never found fish in before--or since).

OK, I'm done selling. We do anticipate a nice turnout, and it'll definitely be worth your while. Anybody needs more info, entry forms, whatever, you'll find it all at http://www.mwaacentral.org Image Image

One more possible correction. Isn't the Stockton Tournement hours 6:30 to 3:00 ?? (in lieu of the usual 7 to 3)....

That's why I mentioned to double check the tournament hours. I didn't have my paperwork with me. It's still a couple of weeks and change away...we will get it all worked out. BTW, that pesky woman sent me an email and somewhere in there I saw something about how she was going to outfish us all at Stockton.... ImageI take that as a personal affront. Image I don't care if she does have a big ol' Stratos boat with tons of horsepower...I know where she trolls, and chances are very good that lures will get hung up, lines will get twisted, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah. Hopefully by now AA has gained steering control of his boat and his planer boards won't be attacking the Team Table Rock fishing machine.
CW is in fine spirits this morning....just got back from the Scotts Bluff County firearms range. Any deer foolish enough to be seen within a quarter mile of CW's new 7mm Rem Mag rifle is in big trouble. It is definitely a shooter. Also got to run some Hornady TAP .223 rounds through a neat Savage 110 rifle I traded for a couple of days ago. The scope has got to go, but the rifle is a little sweetheart.
I just love these trips out west!

Is this what you needed the boards from Off Shore Tackle for PD? Glad they could help you out...I wouldn't expect anything less from a guy like Bruce DeShano...he's a great human being.
Your reputation preceeded my call to Bruce, PD...lol
You would have gotten them even without my putting in a good word. Image
The event sounds like a heck of a lot of fun, and I wish we lived closer, so Rick and I could participate. It's hard to pass up CW's brisket sammiches, don'tcha know...
I think you will all enjoy yourselves!
Good luck fishing, and I hope y'all raise baskets full of money. Image

Take care,
Juls

Many thanks, Juls! The boards arrived the other day and will be part of a truly awesome prize list. Although I've never met him, I have to agree that Bruce is a great human being--this is not the first time he's helped us out!

Kindest regards to you and Rick.

PD...I will buy an extra pair of raffle tickets...put my name on the Off Shore planer boards, too. Hey, Juls...I hope you didn't think I was referring to you as "that pesky woman"...this is another one trying to scam off the extra walleyes that guys don't want...let me all my thanks for helping PD in his quest to make this raffle the best ever.
Possum season just opened down here, so there will be plenty of sammiches if you and Rick could get loose and come down....... Image Image

If'n you say so.....the "pesky woman" is actually quite a lady, and I just have to yank her chain from time to time.
She's kind of the "mother hen" to itinerant walleye fishermen who show up for the upper Bull Shoals tournaments, and scatters us around her house so we don't have to sleep out in cold tents. The MWAA first place plaques hung all over their walls is somewhat intimidating. Image

I do not think I am going to fish Stockton afterall. I have not decided as of yet, but odds are I am not going to go.

It made me sick to my stomach to catch 15"-16" walleyes at Norfork, let them go, and watch them darn near die as I was trying to release it. I think I will wait for the spring events.

It was nice meeting some of you guys, and would have loved to have a few beers and b.s..
AGH...lost it....She pulled down my pants and all she did was giggle.
