I recently joined MWAA and am seriously thinking about fishing the Stockton July tournament. Just got into Walleye fishing again and have never fished Stockon. As of yet I don't have a partner, so will probably fish solo.
Any suggestions??
I will be trailering my boat from Bull Shoals so I guess I need some info on where to launch, best areas to fish, where to stay, etc...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
gofisch

Re: Stockton JUly tournament
GOFISCH...welcome aboard. It may be tough finding a motel room close to the launch, but hopefully something will turn up. Here's one way to get to the launch site from Midway:
Come up Hwy 13 out of Springfield headed toward Bolivar. At the Hwy 215 exit, turn left (headed west) and be careful crossing the southbound lanes. That is a killer area. Stay on 215 west through Morrisville and Bona. At Bona you will cross 245...again, use caution. Just a few miles west of Bona, you will come to a Sinclair gas station and convenience store. Slow down and make the turn to the right. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT AHEAD. 215 goes north through Cane Hill. State Park Marina is on the right side of the road about a mile past a large two story motel on the right.
If you camp, the marina has a nice campground very close to the ramps. Steve Johnson (El Presidente) may have some info on which motels still have open rooms. Right now I am up in the air about a partner....mine may have urgent family business. If my other inquirty does not work out, I will have an open seat in my boat, and will also have room in the motel. If you can't find any place to stay, bring an air mattress and you can crash with me anyway......I will be in the State Park Marina motel....one way or the other you won't have to sleep out on the street.
