Help Needed

Post by Steve Johnson » July 3rd, 2005, 5:21 pm

Hey Guys & Gals fishing the Stockton MWAA tourney next weekend. We need HELP ! Doc & I are the only ones running the tourney, as Jack Hobbs is recovering from leg surgery. We need help in running errands AFTER the 1st day weigh-in on Saturday. Doc & I will barely have time to get a shower and our clothes changed before the 5:30 p.m. Social at the North Shelter starts. Examples of things that need done BEFORE things get started at 5:30 p.m. are: Picking up the BEER, Food for the Dinner & Ice, Hanging up the Banner at the North Shelter, possibly toting some of the merchandise donations to the Shelter. Things that we POSSIBLY may need help with after the social starts at 5:30 are: Selling of Raffle Tickets & Dinner Servers. Please post if you can help. I will get back with you by no later than Tuesday & let you know where I can use you and what you will be doing. The help is small but is mighty BIG in helpping us out. Thanks.

Can do. I take it dinner is not the walk around and serve yourself like it was last year. I will be around the motel by mid day Thursday. Let me know where you are going to be and I will make myself available. I don't know if my Explorer will haul a keg or not, but we can give it a try.

You guys won't be bringing those propane heaters along, now will ya? It's going to be plenty warm and they won't be needed. CW thanks you for volunteering.

I think whoever fetches the beer is under a moral obligation to tap the keg and make sure the contents are up to the high standards of the organization. It just wouldn't be right to bring substandard brew to the pre-tournament meeting. The three of us should be able to wrestle that big heavy keg into a vehicle and do the required testing.

I also saw Ron & Rick's secret shade machine at Norfork. It looked mighty good. I saw it just as I was coming out of my second heat coma of the day. Image Image

I'll turn the Express over to my partner. I wanna ride with you guys, and sit close to the A/C. I've tried for a year to get TR to upgrade Ol' Leaky with an A/C, but he preferred one of those PST trolling motors that follows a given depth, and now I hear he got a color tv for the front.
What a revoltin' development this is!!!!!
From the "volunteer" names on the roster so far, that keg may float before it ever gets to the gazebo. From the looks of things, CW may have to figure out a way to pull the Express over and park it in a marina slot, then come home and get my little 10' trailer to haul "things" around in, or let somebody pull it behind their vehicle. It just got "upgraded" with new custom wheels, new tires, and a semi-repaint job with pinstripes applied by my ten year old granddaughter. CW did the red paint, but the kid put on the white pinstripes. Branson Trailer Mfg. Co did the original substandard paint job, and also supplied the original partially sprayed used car rims and worn out tires of two different sizes. Yeah, if you need a new trailer, that's the place you want to go to get it. Image

Thanks CW. I will be up at the lake around noon Friday. The tournament crew is staying at the State Park in one of the suites(I'm not sure which # they have us in, but the Marina should be able to tell you). I will look for you then.

Thanks for offering to help out. See me on Friday at the pre-tourney briefing(if you are going to be there) or before Saturday morning so I can coordinate job duties for people. I can give you something to do, but the tournament crew is down to 2 and we are strapped for time and could use some pitching in to make this event go well. I will arrive at the lake on friday around noon. Talk to you Friday.

Mike, I'll see what I can assign you to do to help us out. I just want to make sure that Saturday Night dinner and raffle goes smooth. I am going to get the officers(including possible V.P. to be Ackerman) to help out during the raffle. Too much running around for Lee Brown last year during the raffle. He needs to hold up the item and hand it to someone else who will hand it to the winner of the item. Thanks for offering to help out. See you and THE MASTER this weekend.
