Worst thing they ever did...

Post by powerdive » August 1st, 2005, 4:56 pm

...was put a danged dock on the ramp at K Dock. Now everybody and their city cousin can launch there. Took nearly an hour to get outta there the other day because a guy was having trouble launching his pontoon while his truck kept dying. No one else could use the ramp to come in or go out, and quite a line built up in both directions. Signed, Grumpy and Selfish.

P.S. No, I never caught a single walleye that day.

One of they guys on this very forum did something similar on the ramp down at Beaver Creek earlier in the year. His main motor kept stalling out, and he got so frustrated that he actually used his trolling motor to put his boat on the trailer of another person who is also a regular here. I won't mention any names, but REELXTC sure got a funny look on his face when Jackson pointed at the Express halfway onto that Lund trailer.....most embarrassing. It was hilarious to everybody except CW at the time. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Is this a Corp dock ? I can't imagine them having put one in there that will have to be maintained(lowered & heightened)by their personnel, who do NOT do it anywhere else on Bull. K-Dock sounds like it will never be the same again. Although I have used this launch site, it is less used than Beaver Creek or even River Run accesses. Sorry about your troubles Powerdive. Just remember Darwin's theory of evolution: You will adapt to this or you WON'T survive.

I think it's a joint venture between the MDC and the Forsyth Bass Club. Ain't just fishing boats launching there now...

I was "interesting" watching a certain unamed MWAA member trying to load an Express on to a LUND trailer at Beaver Creek this year. I just wondered how I was going to get the 2025 on to his trailer.............

They put one in at Spring Creek on Bull Shoals also, near my Dad's place. All it does is take up one lane and isn't maintained to the water level, so it is useless. Just a place for kids and fat ole ladies to hang out and get in the way when you are trying to launch!

Look on the bright side, if the lake keeps falling like it is you won't be able to use thhe K-dock ramp anyway.

At this moment I have no reason to use the K Dock ramp, since I can't seem to catch any fish there other than bass.

What was really interesting was watching a certain anonymous, but round-headed, member of this esteemed group trying to park a Genmar Sport-Cabin on a sandbar in 2' of 41 degree Lake Erie water in April.

CW will reluctantly admit to having an intimate encounter with 38 degree Bull Shoals water at some point in the past, but I've never been on Lake Erie.....but I do recall one or two guys who have been up that way on a "business related trip".....here's a good piece of advice for anyone contemplating putting your boat on somebody else's trailer.....the rails of the other person's trailer are probably a lot slicker than the ones you are used to on your own trailer. It is a real bad idea to come out of your boat to push it off the wrong trailer. Extremely bad idea.
Trust me on this one. You do not want to do that. Ever. Just swap trailers until the next fishing trip. Even if the boats are vastly different in length and beam....stay in your own boat. Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
