Exterior Water Stains?

Any of you guys have any home recipes and/or know of any store bought products that will remove the water stains, i.e the "water line", from the exterior of an aluminum boat hull? This is a recent purchase but my guess is the stains have been there for a while and may be difficult to remove, if at all.

12 Molar HCl will do the trick.

I use Wonderfoam, but I have heard that tidy bowl will also do the trick. If it is really bad, Zing will work.

I've used "Restore" available at the website below. It works great for removing water line stains. If it's an old stain might take a bit of elbow grease to remove. I think Cabela's also sells the same product on their website

Here you go with your chemistry bullchit...the next question I should probably ask is how much water is required for diluting so I still have a boat hull when I?m done? I want to remove the water stain from the hull not the hull itself.

I've used a lemon cleaner before with good success- it goes under different name brands but is basically concentrated citric acid. It has directions for dilution on the side- since my paint job was shot anyhow I kept it undiluted.

An acid will generaly remove them. Mild acids vinegar, citric or the like. If that doesn't work, an aluminun cleaner can be ordered online.

"Magic Eraser". I tried high pressure water/soap, tried CLR, tried bleach, tried vinegar and baking soda...nothing. Frustrated, I come in from outside and my wife suggests trying her new miracle kitchen cleaner..."Magic Eraser". Have you guys heard of this product sold under the Mr. Clean name? It's a small white sponge, lite duty sponge. It's doesn't look like it will clean food off a plate much less anything else. Well my wife goes on and on about how this thing works at removing anything and everything with little to no effort. Hardly believing her claim I figure what the heck, can't lose anything. Well you better believe it. Just dip in water and apply no more pressure than is required to hold it to the surface. In less than 30 min my entire boat hull is spotless.

I tell ya I hear women talking that magic eraser chit up all the time. I bet a single guy could pick up tons of chicks with a Magic Eraser T-shirt. The good part would be that any chick you pick up wearing that shirt would know how to clean the house and kitchen too.
