Number of fawns getting bred...
Does anyone know the percentage of 1 year old deer that fawn? I have read somewhere in MO that ~85% of the does that are bred actually fawn in the springtime. But, I do not know what percentage of this number is yearling deer. Does anyone know where I can get these numbers. I know I could e-mail a few guys that might know, but a literature reference would be just fine.

The vast majority of them get bred from what I can tell. I see quite a few small does with single fawns, and just take it for granted that they were fawns bred their first yr.

I just read and it says under favorable conditions, 6-7 month old fawns will breed and produce one fawn at one year of age. So, I guess the 85% number does include fawns.
