Re: Anti's pressuring Wal-Mart
Whatever cut the chicken rings come from was a great find. I don't know how the other restaurants and butchers missed it.
The Doctor said I should drink more whiskey. Also, I'm calling myself 'The Doctor' now.

Maybe you should start a new thread for that question.

Carrying a gun isn't about killing.
It's about staying alive.

OH.... what can I say about WalMart. Well, I guess Ill start with this. I grew up in one of these " mom and pop" stores. We sold full lines of marine, fishing, and archery equipment. It was a weekly fight to compete with Walmarts "low prices". The consumers that entered are store would often bicker over our prices being higher than walmart and walking out. Often, the same people that came in to check our store out would come back a day or so later with a product from walmart wanting help in setting it up. We had a father and son come in to get the child (approx 9yrs old) set up with a bow. After spending our time with them showing them different youth bows and merchandise, they left the store empty handed not wanting to spend the money for the boy. Two days later they returned. The father had a long box and walmart bag in hand. This man had got a " great deal" at walmart and wanted us to help him. He pulled out a Bear whitetail II. This bow had a 32" draw length, 55-70lb weight, and was left handed. None to which fit the boy. Needless to say, the man left our store the same as he entered.
I too agree with warhead. I have seen offhand the component parts of a reel purchased at walmart, compared to the parts of the same reel we sold in our store. The walmart reel had plastic internals where as ours were metal. We lost the continued battle with walmart and after 14 years, closed our doors.
Also, I recently purchased a Rem. model 552 22lr from a local dealer. This gun would jam and would not hold a pattern. After an investigation by the shop owner, he informed me that the gun was originally supposed to go to walmart and he replaced it with another in which I havent had a problem with yet.
I guess what Im trying to get at is this, if walmart does indeed continue to carry firearms and accessories, it is up to us, the consumers to use good judgement. If you choose to pass up the small mom and pop stores over walmarts "great prices" convenience, and selection, well, you get what you pay for.

I agree with you mocraig, my first New Bow I bought from a guy who was just getting started in the 3D archery business. I also think you can't get the help from a chain store that you get from an owner operator. I bought a new Forge for me and a Browning for my second wife, who happens to be my 3rd wife now.
