2nd MO bird
Probably 21-22lbs. Ambushed. Spurs are a little over an inch in length and starting to hook best I can tell. Double bearded. Haven't measured, but probably 10" and 6" at best. I finally put the smackdown to those nongobbling bastages.

Good going, PS. Nothing wrong with ambushing a turk.

Ambushing is for jacklegs... I turkey hunt to see them come to a call... Most of the time.

Oh I got to watch these birds strut all right. I did some calling as well. But, for the most part, it was just a matter of being in the right spot. These turkeys were just feeding around so I cannot say that I called them in whatsoever. Especially since they never gobbled not one time this morning. Every now and again they would look my way when I would call, but that was about it.

Nice job, PS.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

They were feeders and I ambushed them. Now, I think I could have killed either of them with a bow. Without a blind even.

Good deal PS. Different measures return different tactics.

After the " Good Deal " part, that post makes no sense whatsoever, ya Tennessee gnome.

Re: 2nd MO bird
If you would have killed either one of them with a bow, the story would have been nine pages and you wouldn't have found it for 3 weeks.
Ambushed turkey taste just like struttin in to ya turkey by the way. :yes;

DMR,
That was kinda silly. How about a second try ?
Turkey hunting dynamics may require tactics outside of the typical call and they will come method.
