Izzy

Post by PoisonSnake » June 6th, 2006, 4:55 am

I am about ready to see that SOB go. Last night pretty much sealed the deal for me. Sure, last Friday nite one could place a lot of the blame on Rolen's error. But, if it weren't for Izzy, the basepads would not have been occupied. I don't care what his ERA or save numbers are. Send that forker up the high road. Image Image

Bring back Eckersley.

Or Lee Smith.

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

That bastage just got some award for being the top closer in the NL during the month of May. Maybe the top closer in baseball for the month of May. I cannot remember.

darn if he isn't now the all-time save leader for the Cards. I mean with the likes of Lee Smith and Bruce Sutter getting in to the Hall of Fame, it would seem to me that Izzy might have a chance as well. Did Carpenter look good last night or what? If the Cards can ride this injury to Pujols through and remain on top in the central, then we might just have a shot.

Yeah, he may be the all-time Cardinals save leader after last night, but did you see how he nearly blew that one too? He's brutal and I just don't think he's going to get any better...

I have the same reservations about his lack of consistency and his "cardiac" moments, but it is good to see a local kid do something great with the Cardinal organization.

Where is he from? I consider Pujols and Rolen to be locals. Didn't know Izzy was a local boy.

Brighton, Illinois, as I recall...

Local or not - it may be time for a trip to AAA. That may wake his sorry donkey up. He is the weak link, IMHO.

He probably grew up a Cubs fan. Rolen was from Indiana and grew up bleeding Cardinal red.

doubt it - Brighton is just on the other side of the river - definitely Cardinal territory.

Brighton is a "suburb" of Alton, Il. I have a co-worker who has a sister that knew Izzy in high school. My co-worker has talked to him a couple of times at Fast Eddie's in Alton.
