Shed hunting

Post by hunting170 » March 1st, 2007, 6:00 pm

Yeah I know, it`s about as much fun as watching grass grow, but I still managed to find 3 today. One little 2 pt side, one small 4 pt side off a 2 1/2 year old, and the other has split G-1s, and 2s, 7 points altogether, almost 6" bases, and measures just under 75". Found the small ones at a fence crossing about 10 feet apart, and the big one in a wide open weed field. Just saw the white tips of the split G-2 at about 25 yards. I hope to see that buck in the future. I`ll get some pics posted if you guys are interested.

I'd like to see that big shed.

I've gone looking for them a few times, mostly getting out just to scout, but I've never found a small shed. The last one I found was 6pts on one side. I don't know why that is.

Maybe because they're smaller & harder to see? Image

Yeah, in shed huntin the smaller ones are the real trophies, cuz they're harder to find.

I'm only after the big ones anyway. But you'd think I'd step on a small one or see one eventually.

Don't you use your bow to hunt sheds?

Why is this topic in bowhunting? I vote that this should be moved to "deer."

I vetoed your vote ALCraig.

Found a couple more gooduns today, both within 100 yards of where I found the big one last week. I`ll see if I can get pics on here tomorrow.
