? for the outdoor chefs amongst us

Post by hunting170 » July 30th, 2008, 10:55 pm

Just wondering what you guys had to say about this.

http://www.chargriller.com/duogrill.html

Saw one at Lowe`s tonight, and I might just have to get one. $329.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Tell us how it works out.

No story line to go with it. My guess is that S&W had it made for gun shows.

I nominate that for post of the year!

Why you would want to fork with gas is beyond me. Trix are for kids and gas grills are for folks like MoCraig.

I got me a basic Weber kettle grill last year cause my horizontal charcoal smoker took up too much room on the deck. After playing around with the Weber, I hauled the smoker away. I can smoke cook ribs, chicken, steaks, fish, k-bobs, whatever I want on the Weber and it's easier to tend than the smoker was.

I got the beer can chicken holder last Christmas and forgot I had it till last weekend. Got everything ready and then found out it was too tall to fit under the lid. I was in a hurry, so I filled a cast iron pot with a couple bottles of Spaten Oktoberfest, put the bird in tits down, shut all the air off to the fire and went to the crick for the day. Here is what it looked like after 6 hrs on the grill. It was some good chit. Good thing my momma wadn't around   Image

Gas is for convenience, pure and simple. I much prefer the coals, but don`t always have the time to do it right. I like the idea of having a choice, plus I haven`t had a smoker since a tornado took mine a few years ago.

I know this may ruin your reputation, 170, but I wholeheartedly agree. Gas is just too friggin' easy to get the food cooked quickly. A smokebox with woodchips in it and it's nearly as good as cooked over coals.

BTW, I also drive an automatic transmission. I guess I'm less of a man for that, too.

As assistant manager at Strickland Propane, I would recommend the Vaugner Char-King I'll tell yuh what! MoCraig is welcome at Strickland Propane anytime, I'll even throw in a free refill of sweet lady propane, yup!
Dale, I'm going to kick your ass!
