It is a better specimen than the cat, but cats tend to start out with a higher price tag. We'll see. I've talked with a taxi on the phone, and can either sell both for $70-80 total, or skin scrape and stretch and get $35 for the pair to a fur dealer. The other option is to stretch and keep them for the wall, or as a gift to someone. I'm still undecided.

I did miss a fox this morning. The sucker river danced all over the trap and stole the bait, but the trap was frozen solid in the ground. I just re-baited and hoped for the best. I should have bedded the trap again and remade the set, but I didn't have any tools or dry dirt on me this morning.

You da man Dave. Only dude on here still killing chit. How much $$$$ will you bring in this season from the trap line? Maybe you should change your screen name to Jeremiah Johnson.

If I maxed out on everything, I might get $100. Still got a couple coon hides in the freezer, the cat in the freezer whole, and fox whole. The taxi market is paying at least double over the fur dealers this year.

I may just keep and stretch them myself, just to get a handle on finishing fur. My dad does rendezvous, and they could look neat in his tent set up.

For only having 3-4 traps out at any given time, I've done pretty good. I could pay for the traps I've bought this year (7) and buy at least that many again and break even on the season. I haven't even set half the traps I have now, but I could catch more stuff if I had all of them out, and was covering more ground. More time to check and remake sets every morning though. Really I was just seeing if I could catch stuff other than coons and possums, which I have caught in small numbers off and on through the years.

I think I'll set some at the Tick Farm next week. What are armadillo pelts bringing these days?

Little less than possums, so I think you'd end up paying 25 cents to get rid of them. That's if you skinned them first.

I just bought a freezer a couple weeks ago. Maybe I'll fill it with armadillos until the market recovers.

Nice fox Dave.

We need some of those traps around here. We got a ton of coon around these parts. I find tracks and chit piles all the time. Though the tracks are sometimes difficult to discern the huge piles of chit filled with watermelon seeds are a dead give away.

You need a newhouse #6

Bait it with some Colt 45, instead of the Bud Light though.

No, I was referring to work. I live no where near a coon’s breading grounds.

Heck, given the economy, I couldn’t afford further lost equity in my house.

LA and I refinanced our house this month. Our house somehow gained $15k on the appraisal from 2 years ago. I was shocked.

4.3% fixed bitches.

4.3% with no additional fees? That's pretty good.

The wife and I are in the process of refinancing. House was appraised Monday, we're still waiting to hear.

We locked in at 4.75%.

Yeah, but I'm not 80 years old either.

Toby, my mortgage man worked his magic for me. I was his best man at his wedding, so he owed me.

If you would have talked him out of it, he would owe you even more. :rotflmao: I`m just sayin.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.
