trying to catch walleye and or crappie. When the bite is tough the spoon generates a reaction strike. The way a spoon like the hopkins is designed when you snap in as it falls back down it backs up toward the fish. So the flash gets them to look at it then when it flutters right back toward them they can't stand it hungry or not. If you can find any articles by Darrell Christiansen he is the guy that uses this tactic the most. I tend to use this as a last resort but I think it should probably be used more often.

I just watched a show on the outdoor channel where they were using that technique and wearing them out. Of course they were a little further north than MO.

Lee...if not too much trouble, could you go over spoon technique Thur. evening. Not only the spoon itself, but the way to work the rod so that it does what you just described.

I will do that the only problem I might have is I left my spoon box down at the lake so I might not have examples but I will definately go over the techniqe. If I get time thurs I will slip by B.P. and pick up some spoons I lost a few on Stockton a while back and could use some more anyway.

Sheesh, I got all kinds of spoons that don't know how catch fish, I'll bring a whole box of 'em so you can teach 'em! I can also drag a rod along, they need some learnin' too!

Aach! Spoons are for kids. I say fork 'em. Fork 'em all.

Actually, I'd bring some spoons along, but I don't trust anyone on this board not to walk off with 'em, so let's just use Ackermann's...
