Now, I would be very happy to kill a deer every 3 or 4 years like some of the deer I have taken. But, one time in my life I would like to think that maybe, just maybe, I'll see something worthy of the pages of NAW.

I'm willing to bet you've got at least one of those on the HFA. But you've made them too much like your own pets so you won't shoot them.

I know of one or two that should be still alive. A few years back, I saw 2 different bachelor groups with 4 or 5 each in them. All of them were over 140" and a couple would have been 160". I have them on film. Problem was, I couldn't hunt on those properties. Now, the Sanctuary is very near one of those places and I can hunt the back side of the other. But, the one farm had 13 bucks killed off of it the year I got those on film. After that year, I have not seen much to speak of in terms of decent bucks.

I think I saw the brute in our area the other night. He bugged off in the woods before I got a clear view of him, but he was sporting some might nice velvet. And I know one of his other trails now...he's mine this year!!
