I am aware of the round headed individual to which Matt refers. Just think of who owns Lunds and used to fish the pwt and it'll come to you.

Uhhhh...walleyesrus used to have a Lund, and he used to fish PWT tournaments, but that guy got a new Skeeter. Rick and Ron fish out of a nice Lund, but I have never heard of them on the PWT circuit,.....then there's that REELXTC fella that has a Lund collection, currently fishes as a co- angler on the PWT West circuit, and used to fish as a Pro under the name of Front Row....maybe that's the one. Inquiring minds want to know.

The least Gary could have done to help me out of that predicament was to come in behind the Express and pull me off his trailer with a length of rope....but Nooooooooo,,,he watches gleefully as I slipped on a wet trailer rail and sat down in a couple of feet of cold water.
Fortunately I had on a snowmobile suit and didn't get soaked before I got up again....still, it was not one of the high points of my life. Had somebody been there with a camcorder, it would most certainly have made the ESPN highlights of the weekend. &%$#@*&&&&^%$#@!!!

I would start in 30 ft of water. Leeches have been more effective for me. If u can keep them alive. I have not fished since last wendsday. Been busy here at work . Going to fish out of Bull tonight in R-n-H tuesday night tournament. They are having some great prizes. Check it out @

Is there any place around lead hill that sells leech's? Or is the only place at Sue's in Bull Shoals? Are they hard to keep alive? Do I need ice for them?

HW...they are not hard to keep alive, but they do need to be kept cold...35 to 40 degrees is best. The ones I bought in Nebraska back in June are still in good shape in my garage 'fridge, but if I take some out, they stay on ice in a cooler. As soon as they hit that warm water, they come to life quickly, stretch out, and start waving like a flag in a strong breeze.

TR, I checked with them last year and they did not have any and acted like they never would. I called an bait shop back up the road right in lead hill and he said he had some but the next time I was down there it looked like they had went out of business. Cw do you have to change there water very often? I saw an old post where you guys was talking about leech's and Juls give a couple of web sites that you could order them buy the pound I was kinda thinking about trying that what size's do you guys recomend Jumbo or large?

I change the water in mine every couple of weeks just to be on the safe side. Just make sure it it not chlorinated town water....pond or creek water is OK. Powerdive uses the biggest ones he can get, which is the jumbo size. The ones I got are large size. There are several internet sites that sell live leeches. Shipping can be more than the bait itself.

Meatman....THANKS FOR BRINGING UP THE LEECH QUESTION....it made me go out to check on mine....they live in two of those red plastic coffee containers with the snap lid left off. One of the containers that has Cabela's leech bedding in it was just beginning to dry out. The leeches were alive, but dehydrating and losing body moisture. I topped off the water level and they started squirming around again, so I guesss they are OK....without your questions, they might have dried out enough to die. Thanks.
You might ask around to see if any of the other guys might want to go in with you on your order. Everybody could save a few bucks by splitting the shipping.

Change the water once a week. Get the cloudy slime out. Keep extra refrigerated unchlorinated water handy (I use a gallon jug) for rinsing and refilling. Keep them refrigerated in styrofoam (OK) or plastic (better). No need to feed them, unless you're keeping them for several months. If so, use fish heads once every two weeks and change the water every day.
I have a kitchen strainer I use for changing the water--just dump the leeches in, rinse with some of the extra cold water from the gallon jug, use the sprayhead to clean the container (I do this at the kitchen sink, and we have WELL water), add new cold water from the gallon jug, and dump 'em back in. Works great. A couple inches of water is plenty. For fishing, I use clean plastic butter tubs--each will hold a few dozen. Keep them on ice.
Jumbo = best, XL = next best (just my opinion). You want to keep the panfish away. Hope that helps.

Hey Meatman:
I was hoping to come down this weekend like we talked about. However, I forgot I have to do a State Softball Tournament in Springfield on Saturday(runs from 9 a.m. to midnight). But, I will make it down soon, so don't give up on me. I'm working on that August Crappie Tournament. Just realized I have my son that weekend, so I have to ask the ex if she will switch weekends with me so that I can fish it. I hope things will work out OK on this, but I'll be in touch. Good Luck in your Green carp Tournament. Have you had any customers yet ??
