Was there any feritlizer or lime added to that chit dirt you have on the tick farm?

We added a bunch of lime due to the acidity of the soil. Didn't really add much fertilizer that I know of. I wasn't there when he would've fertilized it.

As far as the Roundup cost goes, I couldn't tell you what he spent. I didn't have to buy it. He got a concentrate & mixed it, them sprayed from a golf cart. Within a couple weeks it was a bunch of dead weeds and we plowed it under.

I buy the generic Roundup. Don't remember the name off the top of my head. It was quite a bit cheaper though.

Rafe, you mean to tell me he sprayed that with a hand sprayer? Or, did he mount a tank with booms off of it onto the golf cart?

They used a hand sprayer. They have a 30 gallon (?) tank they can put in the bed of a golf cart. It has an electric pump that runs off a battery. Altogether, it probably took less than 3 hours to spray all the food plots.

My yard had mainly fescue planted when we move into the new place about 15 years ago and after a couple of summers where there was no rain, the fescue began to die off and new weeds started coming up.....Well, I got out the old round up and killed it all (about 3/4 of an acre)and the crap turned brown as all get out. I then scratched up the ground and put in a lot of bermuda. People ask me why did I put in bermuda since it is the last thing to turn green and the first thing to become dormant in the fall, and I ask them "what is wrong with that?" I have a lot less mowing time than most people and it does thrive in drought conditions.

Thats what I use to spray with too cept mine is 25gal and I put it on the back rack of the 4-wheeler and hook it to the 4-wheeler battery.
