I have. Lost a good buck out in Kansas from a scapula hit. 29"/70# Hoyt Striker Redline firing a Nitro Stinger and a 125-grain Muzzy 3-blade. Muzzy just crumpled.

Killed a Missouri buck a couple years ago with the same shot from my Xforce shooting 343 fps.

I'm shooting 55lbs @ 28" and with a c-o-c head have gotten 31" of penetration on a deer with the arrow ending up stuck in the dirt. I don't get why guys are endlessly worrying themselves with this chit. Don't hit bone, hit the pump house, collect meat.

Of course, I don't intend to shoot a deer up the azs at 60yrds.

That's just it, Dave. By the way, it was a 62-yard shot up the ass, if I remember correctly.

KE opens up a world of possibility. Now, put in the wrong hands, it also opens up the possibility for a lot of wounded deer. However, put in the hands of someone who knows their abilities and how to place a shot, and well, more death can occur.

Your 55#/28" "normal" bow would not have killed that particular deer, for instance.

Yeah, I would never think of trying it. I don't push the limits with archery. I've lost two deer, and that was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow. I don't begrudge the guys who do take advantage of extreme shots. Pushing the limits is where inovation comes from. It is good for the guys who are into the minutia, but I aint one of those guys.
