Well PMS I guess I killed the closest to a 160" deer that any of the CCGCers will have an opportunity to shoot this year, so I'll expect my award here shortly for the biggest buck.

I wouldn't go as far as to make that statement just yet. I do know one fellow that had a very large deer very close. It snuck in undetected and left pretty much uneducated.

Close and dead are two different things.

I may get lucky and kick you in the sack with a true 150" deer. None of this mumbo jumbo talk of 150 whatever. I could score that deer of yours with my hand and get closer than you and you buddies did.

You have killed some nice ones and I will give you due credit for that. But, they have all been with a gun, so your status as a big buck killer doesn't hold any water.

Hitting them isn't the problem. Seeing them is. Last year I passed on two really good deer with a rifle in hand. My thoughts were that I would kill one of them with a ML. Well, I didn't see either one of them. So, this year reverse psychology should hold true. I haven't seen much with a rifle in hand, so I should be overrun come ML season.

Rile kills don't count. Heck, anybody - newcomer what ever can kill a BC first time out with no skill what so ever. Point and shoot. Big darn deal.

2B - I'll agree with you on the point and shoot deal, but I knew this deer was there the Wednesday before rifle season as I had scouted the area. So there was some skill involved with my deer.

Understood and agree. Did you try and setup on him with a bow or just wait for rifle ?

I set up on him the Thursday before rifle season with a bow and the 8 point that was with him (130")wednesday morning came in at 43 yards but naturally he came in downwind and I couldn't get a shot, he turned and walked away.
