A great opportunity is an understatement! The PWT prolly wont be back again for several years...so many lakes, so little time, I would take advantage of it while you can. FLW might also do it for 2 years depending on how things go for them, Arkansas being the home of FLW and WalMart.
In 2006 I plan to fish a PWT division (3 tourneys)as and amatuer if I can swing it, anyone want to come along for the ride?

Double A....I would love to do that, but I precipitated a domestic crisis when I mentioned that a new Gore-Tex rain suit sure would be nice....that was not thunder you heard.
Anyway, I got the new rainsuit today, but as I explained to one or our illustrious compadres here, it will cost me a lot more than mere money....for a long time to come. But here's wishing you all the success possible in your quest.
When you win that new fully equipped Lund boat, maybe you can sell me The Bite Me Tracker at a real steep discount.
My GT 150 on the back should make it scoot right on down the lake. In the meanwhile, don't hit any ice floes with it and dent up the hull....like for instance this Saturday.
Looks like a good possibility of some boomers tomorrow...
(that's thunderstorms, AA....not the "boomers" you are accustomed to) and CW is highly allergic to lightning strike, so looks like no pre-fishing. See y'all Saturday morning at breakfast. That little presentation thing is all done, so if I stand up and rap my coffee cup, better pay attention. You might miss something otherwise.

The Mrs went out and spent about $5000 on furniture during the last outing, that is going to cost her a 75hp Optimax...turnaround is fair play!

Go for the gold....at least a 100 hp. Plus a nice new kicker to put beside it. Then when you win the fully equipped Lund walleye boat, you can sell the Tracker outboard to TR and me at a steep discount so we can make our own walleye boat....we already found a boat and trailer, but that Chrysler outboat is just way too ugly to stay on the transom. A nice, lightly used 40 would be just right for that hull.........

It is only rated for 90, Tracker says 75 with the dual console, but the CG plate says 90. It just depends on what I come across, whenever I come across the bucks!

Disregard the rating plate....keep piling on the horsepower until the transom rivets start to pop loose, then back off one or two notches on the throttle. Don't your old buddies in the Navy have some surplus fast patrol boats lying around unused? They are big, roomy, fast, and will idle down for slow trolling. They already have gun mounts in place, so you could put a rod holder on each of those and have yourself a very intimidating walleye machine. And those diesel engines probably get excellent mileage at trolling speed. I'm not sure that six banger pickup would tow such a rig through the hill, though. And you would have to get a custom made trailer, but you would definitely turn some heads at a tournament blast-off.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome. I look forward to keeping an eye on what is happening here. (Pun intended)
I have already communicated with a few from the board and as soonas I get home from the Toronto Boat Show, I will finalize my plans and let everyone know what is happening.
Keep the line tight,
Johnnie Candle

PD....these professional who make a living ACTUALLY CATCHING WALLEYES need to come down here and do a little mercy work on Bull Shoals prior to the tournaments....say, maybe in about two or three weeks........I know that we are not tour caliber fishermen, but this is getting downright ridiculous....7 am to 3pm three times out x average of eight guys beating the water= = 352 fishing hours, roughly.
There's got to be a technique to find and catch at least a couple of fish (keeper size) in that many hours of fishing.
Granted, conditions this weekend were tough, but walleye have to eat and they have had a lot of chow run in front of their noses. We need professional help. Oh yeah...welcome aboard, Jim Carroll.

CW, I have no doubt that if Buster were fishing with us, he'd stick at least one nice fish each day. It can be done...the fish are there, and some will always be biting somewhere...we just don't have it figgered out. Yet.

Last year about this time, we would usually cross paths with Buster whenever we went to Bull Shoals. Haven't seen him yet this year. Maybe he caught all the big fish and moved on to greener pastures.....I'm still looking for one of his "lost" custom painted Rogues. They shore are purty!
BB and I are headed down Monday morning at some unreasonably early hour. Anybody who cares to join us is welcome. Haven't discussed where we'll put in, but River Run about 6 am is a safe assumption. If that changes, will post up here.

Hey Guys

...neat site! Saw the link posted on WC, so I thought I would come and take a "look-see". Glad I did...you guys have a great sense of humor, and don't take yourselves too seriously. LOL I like that.
Rick LaCourse and I will be down at Bull Shoals to start prefishing for the April 6-9th FLW tourney on March 21st, so if anyone is interested in doing some fishing, give me a shout.
We can be reached at either [email]

We will be staying at the Dogwood Resort, right above the Boat Dock in Bull Shoals...and arriving Sunday March 20th. We'll start fishing on Monday. It will be the first time our new 621's will hit the water!
Thanks, and have a great day!
