I usually just bare shaft tune at 20 yards. I plan to try paper tuning with bare shafts this year. I really enjoy doing this chit.

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Like I said, I did that one time and it worked great. If you can supertune like that, you should be honed in. But, Like I said, the arrow flight scares me even though I got them impacting very much the same as fletched arrows.

I70 Im kind of like PS in do you shoot a bare arrow at 20 yards through the paper? I would think I wouldnt have any idea where it was going when I released it..I am assuming paper tuning a bare arrow would be done like with one that is fletched, huh?

Triton, he doesn't bareshaft tune through paper at 20 yards. He just tunes his bow to make certain bareshafts impact with fletched shafts. Often, this is called supertuning. But, you can papertune bareshafts at very close distances. 10 feet maybe. It is a very good way to begin tuning your bow as this will cut down on any problems upon putting fletching on the shaft. I don't fletch my own shafts, so I never have bareshafts in hand very often. I had to cut the feathers off of a couple shafts to perform the tuning procedure mentioned above. I saw the arrow flight and was concerned. But, they impacted right with fletched arrows, so I was happy.
