She picks them up off of the ground and tries to eat them. She did it with the plums and peaches too. :banghead:

LC's is more "in the hood" than BB's, not that BB's is in a great neighborhood. BBs is just east of 85th and Troost, north of the Bendix Plant (DOE's Kansas City Plant). BB's is pretty safe, and is probably the place you went as it is known for live blues while you eat at the picnic tables. You don't have to go too far for it to get rough though.

Hey ODF, I looked for you at the State Fair but didn't see you out there. I mainly was around the grandstands and Bud tent but figured you may be over there.

MOCraig wrote:Tigerhaze, what the hell are you talking about? I know where you live. You live in freaking southern Jackson County, and there hasn't been a single time where your neighborhood was bad.
I live next to Ruskin High School, and anyone that knows a thing about that area or watches TV knows there have probably been a half dozen murders and numerous shootings in that area over the last year or two. I can't tell you how many times I have watched the KCPD's armored personnel carrier rumble down the street followed by KCPD chopper and the news crews when there has been a hostage standoff or a police chase, a couple of which occured right on my street. So either you didn't know where I live or don't have a clue about KC.

A little off topic, but people in KC probably heard about the police chase last Thursday that started at 10th and Woodland and ended up at Red Bridge and Holmes. The lady had her young children in her car and was high on drugs, and wouldn't stop until she ran on her rims and crashed. Anyhow I was in the middle of that chase near 99th and Holmes- must have been 20 police cars chasing here along with the chopper. I waved to her with my middle finger as she went by- thoguht about blocking her but figured she didn't have insurance. Once I heard about the kids, I'm glad I didn't.
MOCraig wrote:Also, what is it with you and pretending you have property all over the state? Every other post, you're "at your new farm in Buttfuck County". Seriously, if you're going to lie, get a story and stick with it. Read Dave's posts for pointers..
First of all, I don't have to pretend to own property. If you know my last name, go to the county recorder's office in Bates, Daviess, Hickory, and St. Clair counties in MO and they will set you straight. I just rent in Jackson County so that doesn't count.

Also, I am at "my farm" every weekend so that is true as well. I can't stand being in the city on weekends with all the crazy shit that happens in my 'hood.

Tiger - I can't remember the name of the place, but that sign JimDog posted did look familiar. This has been a few years back when I ran around KC a lot. One of the radio stations (KFKF I believe) used to broadcast the live blues on Sunday evenings from down there. Good BBQ, good blues and cold beer...man it didn't get any better than that!

Only hit the state fair on the last Sunday of the event....but I did manage to get by the Bud Tent a couple of times as well as a couple of the other nearby watering holes! thumb2:

Sugarfoot's is the best BBQ joint in Arlen, and I'm not saying that just because Peggy runs it.

It's the best because they cook the pork and beef slowly over a beautiful propane flame. No charcoal or smoke for me- I want to taste the meat, not the heat! Yuuup.

This, from the character creator Mike Judge. You came a long way, Hank, from your inspirational "Them damn kid's are whacking off in my tool shed" role you had in Beavis and Butthead.

You know, KFKF used to have partnerships with Knucklehead's Saloon in the Choteau bottoms. I wonder if that is the place you are thinking of

I thought about running over to the fair on Sunday since they were having the races that evening, but decided to try and get the track back on my crawler loader "down on the farm".

Something with "saloon" in it doesn't ring a bell...but I believe it might have been in the bottoms.

Wanted to hit the races...but with my son starting school Monday and races not starting until 7:00pm, that was out.

Mr. Born Bad, I think you may have me confused with my second cousin Tom Anderson who lives in Highland, New Mexico. He told me about two troubled youths he hires for odd jobs who wreck his home- I think their names were "Beavis" and Butt-Head". I'm glad my son Bobby is nothing like them.

When you say "whacking in the tool shed", do you mean they were chopping wood or another chore? I'm not sure I'm following you sir.

Yeah, RB. Everybody else knows it's Hank Hill. I mean, it has his name and picture right there. Dumbass.

My apologies, Hank. I’ll not make that mistake again, No Sir!

Good morning from Arlen fellas-

Mr. RB, I am not sure what a "duko" is, but we do hunt ducks and waterfowl down here in Texas- I usually take a trip over to Beaumont near the swamplands.

Mr. Born Bad, there are no hard feelings. Tom and I do look a lot alike but he's a NM Lobos and Arizona Cardinals football fan, and I just can't relate to anything other than the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys (OK, maybe the Houston Texans since there are in the AFC).

Hopefully the beer you cracked open is a good ol' Alamo Beer and not one of those European "InBev" drinks.

I was in KC on Sunday. It was just around Noon and I was getting kinda hungry. I was on 435 on the East side of town and saw the sign for LC's. That sounded fine to me, so I took that exit. Imagine my disappointment when I saw LC's is closed on Sunday. I went just down the road to Big T's. It was good, but not spectacular. The baked beans and collard greens were some of the best I've had. I got a 1/2 chicken and it was alright. I do a lot better job smoking chicken than that.
