That is some funny chit Rafe. Great job on the turkeys.

You should have stayed one more day. Tuesday morning was good around here.

For the first time since before gun season, I went to the Tick Farm last weekend. Saturday was friggin' cold. I saw 2 deer but didn't get a shot. Sunday I hunted in the AM and saw a few, but all too far off. I had committed myself to cutting some wood for an elderly couple so I spent a couple hours after lunch doing that. After cutting the wood I headed to our big food plot to watch a trail that has been heavily used lately. On the way there, I saw a deer in the food plot already. She was leaving on the trail I was going to sit on. There was another following behind her. Had I been 20 minutes earlier, I would have been in perfect position to whack one.

The rest of my season may be taken up by rabbit hunts. Also may be going to IL over Christmas break, so I might try to poach a deer on Dad's freebie farm tag.

I went to the Tick Farm Monday to hunt my last 2 days in the snow. Monday afternoon I saw a coyote. Tuesday morning the snow was crunchy. It was like walking through piles of potato chips. I didn't see anything all day Tuesday except for a single snow goose out in the neighbor's field. I walked up to the fence and took a shot and hit right beside it. Probably a 50 yard shot.

That's the end of the bow hunting for this season.

Sounds like an awesome adventure, Rafe.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Did you sleep in the cabin?

170, I can tell you were mesmerized by the story. I wrote it so you would all feel like you were there with me.

Yes, Dave, I stayed overnight in the cabin.
