Dave,
Since you're that close to those two, you probably shouldn't drop the soap.

Ah, I see you recognize my concerns Rafe. Thanks for the tip, but I'm way ahead of you on that.

That SUV thing is bull crap (for the farmer, I mean). You DO NOT have to post your land to prosecute someone for trespass. It is their responsibility to know where they are, not the landowner's responsibility to inform anyone.
I don't understand that deal. If you want to press charges, they can't say no.
And, Keith is here to tell you, cops in StL cty will come in looking for you if called. An anti made a bogus call about him trespassing and the cop walked all over looking for him. But, he didn't know to look up...Keith did climb down to straighten it out.

Straightened it out is one way of putting it.

Another reason for the Purple Paint law. No more "oops" involved; It makes it criminal trespass, with more servere penalties.

I believe you can prosecute for 3rd degree trespass, if the land isn't posted. If it is posted I believe it moves up to 2nd degree trespass (for a first offense).

In Columbia, some fellow is bringing it before the city council to allow rifle hunting on parcels of land that are at least 20 acres and within city limits. I'm not really in favor of that ordinance. I'm sure the areas get bowhunted already. That seems sufficient.

That's a bit over the top. I agree, archery should be a sufficient.

That seems sufficient.
From what I've seen deer populations are increasing in the Columbia city limits. So has it really been "sufficient"??

PS,
Just a thought...the guy may not be in favor of the rifles either. He might be hoping that the council will reject the rifles, but "settle" for archery.

Interesting idea 170.
My neighbor across the road is thinking about using a rifle in the Oct urban deer season. Since we are in city limits it would be illegal, but bowhunting only would take months to kill the ammount of deer that rifles can in the 3 day season.
There is a need to do something more than what is being done now.
Just before the Super Bowl, there were 14 deer across the road, 5 in my back yard, but that is all I could see from inside the house.

From what I have seen, they are decreasing in Columbia best I can tell. A few years back, I would see a lot more deer than I do these days.
That is interesting 170. But, they already allow bowhunting inside our city limits.

I just can't see using a rifle in city limits. Too f-ing dangerous, and not worth it.

That is kindof the way I see it too.
