Re: Illegal Immigrants
I think every illegal should be deported, whether they do it weekly or every day. The border should be controlled with physical barriers, as well as manpower, and I'd have no problem with mine fields or with firing on border jumpers.
No children born to illegals should be considered citizens, because that's rewarding an illegal act. (You wouldn't let a bank robber keep the money and remain free just because he's not a citizen).
I don't care what their needs or problems are. They should not be here, and we should get rid of them.
I've been against such measures in the past, because it seems too much like the Berlin Wall/Iron Curtain, and could easily be turned against us someday, but I think it's the only solution. It doesn't require someone to study every detail of cause/effect on the problem. It solves it by simply shutting it down. I think it could be done without using too much tax money, because if the government said they had the plans but not the money to build a security wall, I'm quite certain there would be an influx of money, heavy equipment, material and laborers volunteered from all over the country.
There's also talk of the illegals rioting and attacking us around the country to "retake their land", and if that happens I hope there's enough of the people who are willing to deal with the problem.

Except they were designed to keep people in,not out.because it seems too much like the Berlin Wall/Iron Curtain
I'm simply saying we need to separate the problem into realistic proportions. Solve the need for workers who will do jobs that Americans won't, who are nothing more or less than temporary workers, and than drop the hammer on the illegal infiltrators.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
Hellbender there is no such thing as a job Americans won't do but, as long as there are people who will do the work for nearly free with no taxes or SS taken out Americans will not do the jobs. I have seen on this forum someone said Although jokingly "I need some landscaping done" on the west coast for sure you could drive down the street pickup a bunch of illegals who would do the whole job for practically nothing compared to what a landscaper would charge and that is why they are still here. Cut off the money from illegal work, get INS the help they need to find the people providing aide for illegals and they will do away.
Everybody: Do you guys remember a few years age the FBI sent out hundreds of letter tell people wanted by the law that they had just won .........what ever it was and then arrested them when they get there? I wonder if they Idea about immunity might be a sting operation like that? It would be nice but I don't think the government is that smart.

That's the other thing that burns me. Politicians listening to dam illegals who aren't citizens. Only in America could chit be fuked like this.
heck, more than 1/2 of the work is done for you INS, they're all gathered together in a big group! Send someone in there to check ID's.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
MoCraig - You, once again, are showing your azz. Keep in mind that this is an internet chat board...it is for BSing, bantering and, believe it or not, to voice opinions. This is not where laws are made and screwed up. We can voice opinions about something, without having to have a viable solution implemented or ready to implement.
Aren't you pissing and crying about people pissing and crying? If you don't have a solution, then why are you pissing and crying about it?? Why aren't you trying to "understand"?
Here's a solution, take your arrogant, elitist azz to a high-society board and leave us "rednecks" to ourselves. You're whining about people making condescending statements towards illegals, while doing the exact same thing towards United States citizens. I'll take hanging with rednecks over someone with your arrogant azz attitude any day!
If you think "rednecks" are the only ones upset over illegal aliens, then obviously you haven't been paying attention. About the only ones NOT upset over illegal aliens are those that employ this form of cheap labor so they don't have to pay American CITIZENS a decent wage.
...and your point is? We have thousands of crack dealers on our soil and we'll have more. They live and work among us. They use our resources. They have children that will be citizens and use even more of our resources (read: welfare, crack babies). Should we just ignore them too and say "oh well, they're here", grant them clemency, and hold them up as a vital part of our economy? It means that regardless of your thoughts on the subject, thousands of illegal aliens are on our soil, and hundreds more will pour across the border daily. They live and work among us. They use our resources. They produce children who become our citizens.
Why should we? We have laws set up to stop this ILLEGAL practice, but they are being ignored. Do I advocate shooting them? No, not yet. But I damnn sure advocate ENFORCING the laws we have in place and deporting anyone that comes here illegally. The only way to solve a problem is to understand it. This has always been true, and it always will be true. I mentioned above that the posters here did not fail to disappoint, and I stand by that. In typical fashion, the usual "hang them, shoot them, kill them, set landmines, etc, etc" were brought up. Remember the pissing and crying statement?
Not a single one of you, regardless of your internet-heightened tough-guy battle-cries, would ever take the life of a man, woman, or child for crossing the border into America. None of you has it in you because, deep inside, we all know the difference between right and wrong, and we all know that's wrong. The reason you're angry is you feel (rightfully?) a sense that a group of people are invading "your" country and taking your resources.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
Hellbender - Are you saying construction jobs in a place like Lake of the Ozarks is a "job Americans won't do"? Employers are a big part of the reason that we have the illegal immigration problem we do. They wouldn't be crossing the borders by the thousands if they couldn't get a job here.
I'm not sure it's accurate to say American's won't do a certain job. It's true to say that Americans might not do a job for the same wage as an illegal alien. However, there's a big distinction between the two.

BigJohn - We don't need to waste $$ on postage. Thousands of illegals are going to protesting in the street. All we need is some really fast fence builders and LOTS of buses!

Re: Illegal Immigrants
Or the reconstruction of New Orleans. Or roofing, after all, roofing wasn't don in America until Illegals came here. Or maids, land scaping, mowing, farm labor, meat processing, etc.
Oh MOC, go to Germany, Cnada, England, France, or any other country and go to the hospital. See if they pay in full for your ailments since you're not a citizen. It's unlikely, but somehow since we're the USA, we're supposed to cover it? Why is that right or expected?

Hellbender - Are you saying construction jobs in a place like Lake of the Ozarks is a "job Americans won't do"?
Yes there are some jobs that Americans don't or won't do, and I've seen that many times. As to construction jobs? Depends, there are some jobs that Americans shy away from in construction. Two that come to mind is a go-for framer, you know, the one holding the uneducated end of the tape. Drywall is another where hangers are hard to find, its hot, very dusty, and has to be done fast to make money at it.
My point is that you can't stop the use of Mexicans in parts of the work force without destroying a lot of jobs held by Americans that depend on the low end job being done first. I haven't and don't advocate paying them less than minimum or for them to avoid taxes, and in fact I think they should work from Mexico, where they can come in on a legal permit to work, but still pay taxes. But they should be invited to fill a job that can't be filled otherwise. And like I said, then we can shut the border down and no one should complain.
BigJohn if you know a bunch of New Yorkers who will clean chickens all day, shovel chicken chit all day, bus tables, wash dishes, and the like for minimum wage, send them down to the Ozarks, especially Branson, they can go to work. I have to warn you thought that many of these jobs are sporadic, work one month, starve the next.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
I ain't sure I'm buying that in the construction trade. There are high school graduates and beginners in the construction trade that would like to get their foot in the door and start building experience and a career. Team up with trade schools or building trade programs to help with some labor. They will work cheaper than experienced laborers. But why would a builder hire Joe for $9/hour plus benefits (if any) and pay taxes and insurance (unemploy and w/c) on that worker when they can hire Ramon for that or less and have no taxes to mess with, no benefits to mess with and no unemployment or comp insurance to mess with?
I have a buddy that does drywall at Lake O. for a living. He makes top wage because he works hard and is good at what he does. But he's seeing more jobs, especially commercial construction jobs, going to illegals. Why? Because they will work for 1/2 of what he makes and the contractors have much less overhead and hassle...until they get busted.
Chicken chit shoveler may be....but why should we turn a blind eye to illegal immigrants and employers hiring illegal immigrants for $5 hour rather than paying a legal citizen $8-$10 an hour? Illegals also work in dangerous/hazardous environments where most people wouldn't work because the employer ignores warnings and requirements. Crack down on the HIRING of illegals immigrants by employers and you'll stem the tide some.
I'm not opposed to legal immigration and/or some sort of work permit. But I'm just not buying the argument that our economy is DEPENDENT upon an ILLEGAL immigrant work force.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
Over the last few days the illegals have massed in our citys for a protest march to protest being in our country illegally. Figure that one out.
We have missed a opportunity to gather them all up in masses and send them back to their homelands.
Just my opinion.

Re: Illegal Immigrants
Just a few more cents from me and I will shut up... The protestors here came out chanting in Spanish... waving more Mexican flags than American, yet claim they ARE the face of America. All I can say is, NOT SO MUCH! Not one interviewed said they are grateful for the opportunity America has provided for them. Not one spoke in kindness or gratitude. They all yelled about their "rights," yet the rights of a Mexican citizen differ from that of a citizen of the United States. True, human rights are consistant, yet there should be more to citizenship than geography.
Also, just loved how the Democrats were out there kissing their azzes. Hillary makes me wanna puke. Besides, she looks like HELLL. Could someone get her a number of a good botox man?
