Guess again PS - I wouldn't have shot the deer. I got a 10 on the wall, don't need another 10...or for that matter an 8 that "looks" like a 10! Oh and another thing, I'm also sure of what I'm shooting..or not shooting, as the case may be, so I don't have to make comments like this:
I had no time to judge anything at all.
In my mind, I was thinking between 130 and 140". Boy was I wrong.
I had no idea how many points this deer had. I knew that it had 8 for certain, but I thought it was a 10 pointer that I had seen twice before.
I kept telling my brother that I hoped it wasn't an 8 pointer. I was sick when I found that it was.
Didn't you have some of those same excuses last year??

Dude, you've shot enough deer that you shouldn't be so susceptible to buck fever...what gives??

You call that freak rack you have on the wall a 10. Now, tell me this; if that monster over there just happens to be a 10 pointer that scores 170", are you gonna pass on him because he is only a 10 pointer?

I know it's not much to look at, but hey, least it's more than 5 points!
I said bigger, not necessarily more points. BTW...the freak was probably 14 points and 170" +/- LAST YEAR. Nobody has seen the brute this year...or so they say.

But I did find an 8-10" diameter cedar tree that he's destroyed. I figure my last best chance is tomorrow and Friday...then I'm rat fornicated.

That is a good point Snowflake. I would love to get to that caliber of a hunter. I just don't see enough 140" deer to even go to those links. That is why if I think 130", I am usually shooting and asking questions later. Now, last year with a gun, I didn't kill a deer. I could have shot 2 10s that would easily score 130". I was proud of myself. With a bow, once it gets close to 125", I am usually shooting. I wish I were a bit better at judging animals, but oh well.

I think some fellas forget how big a 120" deer really is... specially up close and personal when bow hunting.

I am still in search for the 160". I will continue to be in search of him for years to come. Especially if I keep whacking 120" deer.

You'll never get one if you keep killing 120"'s. My search however is not nearly as specific but I am particular.

Damnit I have already agreed with Snowflake on that one. Don't keep reminding me of something I already know.

Still, how many years are you going to blow smoke up our asses about big deer. I just got in from too many days in the field. I saw a 170 inch buck yesterday that would have made your donkey so tight a straw couldn't have been sledgehammered into it. And, AGAIN you show up talking about an average deer. Aren't you the guys who told Tom he should be able to tell a button buck from a yearling doe by sight. And he has hammered truly impressive deer 2 years in a row. No excuses necessary. I am starting to think that your group is a bunch of hacks.
