Re: High Vertical Tear
Hobie, will you STFU if we all agree you?re right? My point is you can?t fix STUPID. I honestly can?t figure out what you?re so proud of here. Pat yourself on the back, there are two ?fixes? for a consistent high nock. When the guy rules out both from the beginning it?s not hard to conclude he has equipment (not tuning) issues or he is a complete and utter dipshit, which you have no idea of. All the self-proclaimed experts on board make 40 fornicating posts and prove their competence. You got lucky with the rest, for all you know he could have been shooting a left handed bow right handed and didn?t know any better. For Christ sake, I guess ?cock-eyed? mounted rests are a common sight for some people. Archery pro shops suck...a pocket bow press and a set of allen wrenches and anyone can do 95% of what a pro shop does on any given day.

Bullchit Toby. I'm not fornicating with any pocket bow press. heck, I'm not pressing one of my bows ever. I'll mess with it once it is on there, but I'm not doing it myself.

Re: High Vertical Tear
What??? Do you read English? You can?t fix STUPID!! You didn't tell the guy poopoo. He answered his own question in his first post. High nock tear...he said he lowered his nock point and tried a stiffer spined arrow. Done...that?s all you can do. Common sense would now say to look for equipment issues. You guessed it was his rest and got lucky.

Re: High Vertical Tear
There wasn't any luck involved. The rest was the only reasonable answer based on the information he gave.
Toby, have you read any of PS's posts??!

Toby: I wish to have my bow back in the same shape that it was in when I started. Also, I don't want to kill myself or anyone in the vicinity of the bowpress.

Are you kidding? He didn't give any useful information other than in his first post, where he answered his own question. No where after that did he give any information leading you to "reasonably" decide it had to be his rest.
Yes, I've read PS's posts and I still can't figure it out. A bows are simple to work on, can't hardly get much easier. But...then again, I have met people who can fornicate up the proverbial jelly sammich.

Re: High Vertical Tear
Toby: I can do a lot of things in the lab that are next to impossible for some. I grew up doing a lot of my own work on my trucks. I don't trust anyone with my guns or my bows. But, there are a few things I refuse to do unless well trained. Right now, that one thing is press a bow. Ifn' someone would sit me down and show me the ins and outs, I'd probably go out and buy a press. Also, I don't fletch my own arrows as I don't have the patience for it. I think it is lack of patience on everything more than anything else. That, and I'm a skeerdycat.

Re: High Vertical Tear
PS...out of curiosity, how many black fingernails do you normally have, at any given time?
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

170: None. I hire all of my work out so that I don't have to get my hands dirty. The last bit of handy work I did was building a 200lb ladder stand. You know, the one that nearly cut my finger off when I was trying to move it last January.
