Red Breasted Merganser

Post by BornBad » August 1st, 2004, 9:08 am

These birds winter most abundantly on coastal waters, including the golf of Mexico, and to lesser exten, the great lakes.

Their flight, strong and direct, is usually low over the water. They are difficult to to distinguish in flight from the common merganser.

Voice: Seldom heard.

Length: 23"
Weight: 2 ? lbs
