I would let the one in the lead get past me, then shoot the second buck. Hopefully the first buck would not spook badly, and I could shoot him too.

If I saw those 2 bucks walking together I wouldn't shoot either one. I would very quietly walk back and get on MY side of the fence! See I'm fortunate that I don't have to make those kind of decisions...because that poopoo don't happen to me.
BTW - I bet they tasted about the same as the doe I cooked up last night.

I had two similar bucks walk in during muzzleloader season...both were trailing a doe I had seen bout 15 minutes after sun-up...the first buck was a 12 pointer, very symetrical and wide outside spread, but lacked mass...the second one was a non-typical, maybe 15 or 16 points with a drop tine...man, I was chiting in my pants, just waiting for one to walk out to wheres I could take my first ever smokepole harvest...well, they did walk out but I just couldn't decide which one to take, in retrospect, I should have just taken the first shot opportunity I had, but I was excited, I just couldn't decide...finally, the 12 pointer stopped (broadside) and started chewing on some of the biologic I had planted in front of my blind and I just decided to go for it...I was telling myself to stay calm, watch the body, not the
...just stay clam...when, all of a sudden, my wife kicked me and told me my woodie was poking her in the back and I was talking in my sleep...
