Fish,
Iowa has some dandy bucks , but not big enough to make me claim to be a resident. Even my standards don't go that low.

WTF?? Geez people, it's just deer and turkey. It ain't worth some big fine (or worse).
Had a buddy of mine whacked a turkey while we was pheasant hunting near Memphis. He breasted it out, wrapped it up and put it in his cooler. On the way home we went through a possum cop roadblock and they found the breast. He tried to tell them that he brought it with him...but they weren't buying it. He got off purty darn easy...$200 fine and nothing confiscated. Seems to me he would have been a lot better off to go to the store...it wouldn't have cost him $200 and he would have got to KEEP the turkey!!

ODF - It ain't just the deer or turkey that gets wacked, its the $$$ the states lose in OOS tags.

I'm applying for an out of state license up there this year. I for sure won't be pulling any shananigans (MoCraig, check the spelling on this word).

Fish - I think you missed my point. I ain't talking about the states losing the animals.
I don't get why these numbnuts want to risk all that $$ and possible confiscation of property, etc., just to get a deer or turkey, or to save a few bucks on an OOS license. To me, I ain't risking the $$ and property just to have a few pounds of meat in my freezer...but then I realize I'm an exception in some parts of the state!!

PS - I have it from a good source they are already tracking your travels.
ODF - Yeah Iknow what you're sayin. BTW the same news blurb said they will be expnding this to other states not named yet.

I think they'd nail a bunch of people if they compared with Illinois.

Another one they really need to think about. The MDC has identified some 900
Convicted felons that have purchased and checked deer with a firearms permit. These guys should be waiting for a knock on their door

MoBowman - My understanding is that a muzzleloader is not considered a "firearm" for purposes of probation/parole. It may be the same with the convicted felon/firearm law. But you still gotta have a firearms deer hunting permit to hunt with a ML. So simply checking a deer using a firearm permit may not prove they were in possession of a "firearm", depending on statute. (...or so my friend said...
