Where was your worst hunting trip?

No deer, bad weather, ran out of beer, too many hunters, wild animals trashed camp etc.
What was the worst hunting trip that you have been on?
Mine was hunting in southern Washington Co. with some family around '89. We hunted openning weekend without seeing a deer, and finally my grandad shot a doe mid day Monday. The first deer that had actually been shot on the property in 3 seasons. We got the truck stuck in a ditch trying to get down the trail to load up the doe. Spent the rest of the day with my dad and grandad trying to dig out the truck and get back onto the gravel road. Cold, rainy, miserable, and I never saw a deer the whole season.
Surely someone can top that.

Rabbit hunting outside of Rolla with my buddy, Danny. After the 3rd time of looking down the barrel of his 20 gauge, I told him goodbye and never hunted with him again.

My worst was a fishin trip rather than a huntin trip...
About 5 years ago, me and a coupla buddies headed down to Montauk for the openin weekend of trout season. Got there late on Friday night and sat up camp. That night we had 12 inches of wet snow. The tents kept collapsing under the weight of the snow and we got wet and cold. After a sleepless night, the next mornin we get up and fish for a while. Late that afternoon, we decided we had had enuff of the wet and cold, so we would go into town to get us some dinner some place warm and dry. On the way into town, my buddies cherokee throws a U-joint. We spend about 3 hours on the side of the road waitin for a tow truck. When the tow truck gets there, they inform us the only place open that they know of is a truck stop up in Cuba. So we gets towed up to Cuba, where we spend the night in a truck stop, waitin for the Jeep to get fixed. Finally, we head back to camp the next mornin. We get back to camp round 10:00 in the mornin, fish for a lil while and head home, still wet and cold. It sucked!

Heavy camo, warm day, deer stand and a festering case of jock itch... Need I say more?

Probably fishing my brother and his friend out of the water (thinking they were dead)after his Champion boat split in half. Both were ejected. Neither were seriously injured.

Went for a day of huntin'/shootin' with a friend from work and his brother. (Many years ago). We were walking along a trail that led to a cave on a bluff, then to the woods above, where we were going to hunt. I was in the lead, the brother behind me, and my friend bringing up the rear. Suddenly I hear "BOOM", and turn around to see the brother starting to hold one hand with other. I could see the holes in his hand, and one piece of shot had gone through from underneath and made a fingernail look like a lobster tail with the meat sticking out. When I asked how it happened, my friend said his old single-shot was hard to c-o-c-k, so he just left it that way all the time. As we were walking it got stuck on a little limb, and he just yanked it loose.

I had to get him to the hospital, and answer questions during the investigation.
Then on the way home my friend/shooter says "My wife won't let me go anymore if I tell her what I did, so I'm going to say you did it".
Friendship dropped---Haven't seen him for many years now.

Thanksgiving weekend 1994 thrown out my bosses brand new Champion at about 30 mph when the steering cable broke. We both walked away but it was by far my worst trip to date but the fishing was great.
